@Traptz

Or it could be that this was written two days ago. Most columns are not written the day they are released, but I will add an addendum.

Zombies are on strike for another week at least. They joined a union.

Many sites like this use automated posting, so Larry probably had this written well beforehand and they scheduled it to post today, prior to the delay being announced.

So basically they got punk'd by Bioware.

Mr Everett, may I ask a favour? The next time you speak with a swtor dev could you please ask them about force flagging which basically means all servers, including pve/pve-rp are open world pvp regardless of what it says in the server description and if they intend to resolve the problem any time soon.

More details of this issue can be found here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=159167

I understand the mechanic, but what exactly would you like me to ask?

@Balraw
Yeah, that irritated the heck out of me not long ago. I revived someone who had been killed by mobs. He wasn't in my party and I had no way to know he was PvP flagged. Well he was and simply using the default rez that everyone gets (as opposed to a class ability) immediately flagged me for PvP.

Big deal. It'll wear off in 5 minutes, right? Wrong! I was teamed with a friend. Every time either of us helped each other -- such as me tossing off a heal -- it immediately reset the timer! We were flagged for a couple hours before we finally figured out the cause.

This really is a significant issue and a lot of us would like to know what BioWare plans to do to resolve it. The irony here is that WoW had similar issues early in its life. As much as BioWare "refined" from WoW and other MMO's you would think they'd have had this under control from the get-go. Instead, it's worse than it ever was in WoW!

Could you ask them if force flagging is an intended mechanic or an exploit. i.e. if they intend for people to be forced into a pvp fight without their consent or being in a pvp designated area on pve/pve-rp servers.

Just in case we have some confusion over the terms I am using by force flagging I mean when pvp flagged play A walks into the AOE of non pvp flagged player B, therefore forcing player B to become pvp flagged, whether they want to be or not. This is all on pve/pve-rp servers.

@Balraw also if it is an exploit if they are indeed working on a fix.

Thank you for taking the time to read my comment.

It seems like fringe griefing behavior. I'll ask around to see if anyone has noticed a trend of this happening. Either way, this should be considered griefing, and most likely the individual would do it multiple times. It should be reported to the GMs.

@Larry Everett

It could become a very big griefing mechanic, please do check into it Larry. :) Oh and I noted last night when we did an Op/raid on the Taris world boss that there is no mechanic to roll 1-100. :( That is a very old simple mechanic that most games since the dawn of text based online rpgs had. /roll Saves a lot of hassle, arguements and heartache when an item drops that 10 of the 16 characters can use. lol.

200 hours per class? You need to read the forums, Massively, because according to some it only took them a little over 40 hours to reach 50...if they are to be believed. Oh and that was casual play to top it off.

@starka1 Well it took me 8.5 days /played to reach 50, and by my math that's 204 hours. And I'm an experienced MMO player with max level chars in many games, so it's not like I didn't know what I was doing.

Anyone saying they made it in 40 hours was NOT playing caually and frankly I don't even believe them.

@starka1

The world's first 50 (who was French) took over two days non stop skipping all cut scenes. The guy was leveling the same exact class he leveled in Beta to boot. So knowing exactly what to do plus without any trade skills, flashpoints, socializing, cut scenes, etc the path to 50 was over 50 hours. So adding everything back in is easy a 100+ hours additional time.

What irks me more, they are the same people complaining about the game. And they like to play their complaints as objective criticisms about the design when their main point is the game's design didn't address how quickly they ran out of things to do.

I love the game. I love the look of the worlds, the music, the sound effects, the voice acting and the mini-space game. I don't play a lot but I like to look around and adventure the first time I play an MMO so I really don't understand where those people are coming from.

I'm referencing a thread about a guy who was complaining about some change to PvP(I don't really follow PvP) and at level 50 he would have nothing to do because of that change. I think it had something to do with no longer being able to attack players that were x levels below yours thus maybe 4 or 5 other people were 50 and could PvP. He was angry at Bioware's suggestion to play an alt. He had also chosen a PvE server. He claimed to have gotten to 50 in 40 something hours including cutscenes. No matter how many people challenged him, he didn't change his story.
