Eve is the only MMO I really care about these days. Other than that show me an MMO to care about (immersion, quality, and not clone garbage) and show me an app that adds value to my experience and I might purchase it. But subscription for an app? No way.

I'de pay for a mobile App for EVE, that allowed me to manage market transactions and skill queue without having to log in from a PC.

There are other features/tools in other MMOs that I woudl apy a nominal fee to access via mobile device, however most developers continue to deliver "fluff Apps" just to say 'Theres an app for us!'

To use WoW for example Blizzard released the armory and auction house mobile apps, I can see use for the AH app, but the armory? Not even close to useful. Now if they had a raid planner/calander/ invite accept App I could see shelling out a few extra bucks for it. Developers need to look at what features players need, want and use the most and find ways to incorporate those features into mobile platforms.

Probably not, considering that I don't have a smartphone/any mobile electronics and I'm usually in front of my laptop as it were.

I am kind of at a weird point in my life, where I am shifting my views on what I think is a good idea and what I used to think was a bad idea.

Take SWTOR. I'd pay $1-3 a month for an iOS app that lets me have companions do stuff, hit trade house, and perhaps some basic email/in game chat, and some recipe/db stuff.

I also really liked the pre-registration forums for guilds, the idea of having your guild integrated with the core website was nice. If they added more options for the guild forums, perhaps a way to see your guildmates gear and stats integrated with the website and the game. We'd have easily paid $10-20 a month as a guild for such a functionality.

I think if you offer cool enough services, features, above and beyond content, then monthly charges are valid and I would not mind paying them.
