@Titula

There's only one group of developers that focus on one thing at a time, and nothing is worked on simultaneously. That's whay you're saying, right? Right?

They're doing all those thing simultaneously. They have many teams working on different things, such as bug fixes, guild functionality, and of course new content. You are reporting bugs that you come across, right? That's the simplest way to let them know what's having problems.

To be honest I was expecting something better from the terrific EA-Bioware-Lucas Arts trio, and what I received is a nice action game with a blatant lack of mmo functionalities and a lot of instances where you can't explore the world without taxi or teleport. And I do respect more quality over quantity, it makes me all fuzzy inside to play a polished game than rushed out content to appease the power levellers. I'm still level 34 starting 2 days before official release. What I am experiencing now is a heaviliy instanced world à la Guild Wars 1 WITH bugs, like the npc gliding instead of walking in the interfleet corridors 15 minutes ago for instance ;)

@dogmaticatheist

Microsoft *is* making an MMO for it's popular line of Flight Simulators.

Not quite Sci-Fi, but it's putting single-player into an MMO arena. ;P

Reading comprehension must not be your greatest strength, "unverified".

I haven't bought the game yet, as my comment demonstrates. Every screen shot I've seen from live players about this issue has blurry low resolution textures, because Bioware disabled them outside of cut scenes for everyone and is attempting to remedy it within the first quarter of 2012 somehow.

Note they haven't stated if they will be enabling fully high resolution textures, they've only said they are trying to improve the current situation somehow in 1.2 within the first quarter of 2012. This could mean a number of things. Only seeing high res textures on your personal avatar for instance.

In the mean time, perhaps you could do me the honor of taking a screenshot to demonstrate how the textures are not blurry rather than implying my two thousand dollar rig and my separately two thousand dollar 30 inch cinema display are pieces of whatever "s" stands for.

I've been investigating this issue for two days now, and every screenshot I've found is dismissed as not being an adequate example of the low resolution textures which seem to be the problem.

If someone would be so kind as to take a screenshot of the live game, as in NON cut scene texture quality but the game in action while you're moving around, I'd be grateful.

I am prepared to buy the game right now. I just wish it looked like they are advertising in their press kit here.

That's what the game is supposed to look like.

@Halfcentaur

Go to Youtube and watch one of the hundreds of HD gameplay sessions. This will give you a better idea of in-game texture resolution than any screenpic will. And BTW, the picture you linked, looks very much like what it does in the game. I would know. I actually play it:)

SWTOR played with all options maxxed up does have a lot of blurry textures, cloth and rocks e.g. are very undetailed and it creates many inconsistencies in the graphics right now. The natural environment especially caves and temples is very nice though, with improved textures they would be a treat to the eye.

Hey, SOE stop throwing crap at us and fix your **** game!

Woops, this is like SWG all over again. I like SWTOR at the moment and I'm still having fun on my smuggler but I'd be lying if I said that the game didn't still need a ton of work. And this new FP is like a heaping helpful of meh.

Rakghouls? Taris is the most horrible planet in-game both Republic and Empire-side. It is like the fun vampire of all the planets. And I don't mean like the kind of vampire that's cool and mysterious and is a blast to hang out with but the kind of vampire that sucks out all the fun.

It is like they took the essence of boredom and gleefully sprinkled it all over the planet. Bioware, from me to you: this planet needs a Death Star to happen to it, mm'que?

But I digress, guess we'll just have to see if Bioware will repeat the mistakes of the past.

I wouldn't mind the lowres textures if the game gave us some decent customization choices to make. :U

3 days since the last swtor article, guess the swtor hype is finally over, even at the massively HQ.
