@Lateris Now if only more quest givers would take holocalls so I could do so much less running/driving!

I think the biggest issue is that you rely on some one named JediBob in the first place. Not only is his name the ultimate generic that is Bob, but he also has to use his class name in his name! Only reason to do that is if your so bad people couldn't tell with out the label.

Excellent idea on the holocalls! Too many times people miss a tell as it quickly scrolls off the screen or the little chat announcement sound is lost in the combat kabooms.

Need to have it as an option that can be checked on/off as some may abuse this feature to no end. - think gold farmers.
Even better - have this feature limited to only guild members or at least a check box for that. Should help with the above potential abuse.

More ideas:

Also for guild ships - I could think of raids where the guild ship needs ship upgrades just like the player ship. Guild members man, guns, fighters etc in defense or assault on a location.

Multipart raid groups - guild ship, player ships assaulting a location. Boarding parties or landing teams go down planetside or aboard an enemy ship. The space teams need to attack either the shields or another objective that allows the boarding party team to advance.

Same is true with the boarding parties - they have objectives that will help the space teams - like destroy antiship gun emplacements.

Guild unlocks - more ship classes!
Small 4 man ships mini assault cruisers, destroyers etc.

Guild Ground combat:
Troop transports hold 4 & 8 crew sizes.

Personally what I would like to see is a second seat on my speeder for companions or heck give them their own speeder : )

What TOR guilds need...

A clearly outline "Leave Guild" button so that general chat doesn't get spammed every hour with someone asking how to leave a guild.

I still haven't found a good RP guild, and I'm on two RP servers! :(

I too am struggling to find any RP love atm and tbh i have started to think Swtor isn't a good place for RP at all!

I'm kinda thinking of leaving my guild atm as i'm not enjoying the guild experience. With it no more than a glorified chat channel for the next 6 months do you guys (and gals) believe guilds will suffer because of this?

the systems in this game are definitely an afterthought having a tiny chat channel does not a guild make and speaks volumes about the poor game design and justifies the fears people had before the game launched about LA/EA/Bioware not putting enough attention to the basic functions required to make an mmo an mmo, like an Auction house, guild perks, advanced mail system etc etc etc. The list of fail from this game is growing and we can barely hold back our "I told you so"s. I'm surprised people are actually resubbing after they got to level 50 on two toons so quickly and couldn't do anything else. And adding raids and dungeons won't fix the problems.

GUILD ACTIVITY LOG. As a guild leader, that right there is my #1 request right now. When I log on and find that there are new members because they were invited by one of my officers, I have to manually go though our offline roster to find out who they were. That would save me a TON of work.

And to those of you who say you haven't found a good RP guild yet, I encourage to check out the Server Sanctum of the Exalted. There is a very active RP community and many RP guilds can be found on this server (including mine, The Corellian League). I hear you though, right now RP is a bit scattered, but a lot of it has to do because the game is brand new and most players are focusing on leveling their characters. Once more of us have reached end game, the RP will REALLY take off.

There is a few basics this game is missing that are really annoying.

One of the biggest problems that should have been as part of the guild design is the ability to right - click on guild mates names in the guild list to do such things as: send a tell, invite to a group, see info.

The fact that this isn't included, well Im just shocked. Its already in for people on your friends list, but how is this missing from the guild list?
