"We'll be releasing more info about PvP and WvW as well as PvE in the coming months."

The coming months part makes me sad :(

@Foobar1923 This. I want it now, and I was hoping it would only be a few months now that it's in closed beta.

@Foobar1923 Yes,that line definitely got a vocal "REALLY?" from me. Another year of "demos at trade shows" will just be beyond ridiculous.

Don't panic yet, guys. At least he didn't say "In the next year."

@Foobar1923 "in the coming months" pretty much means over the next four or five months. I wouldn't be surprised. if we had another info flood on PvP starting in a couple weeks, lasting for a few months.

@Foobar1923 I don't put too much stock in "the next few months". I don't think anybody really thought the game was going to release in February.

I'm not even sure it'll release in 2012.

@Foobar1923 That is a soul shattering statement. This game is so massive with a cult following, and yet it just keeps taking longer and longer. I am afraid to say, by the time this comes out it may be too late for the game.

GW2 must have raids, or PVE players will get tired of the game very fast

That was an interesting read, but shouldn't the title say PvP vs PvE, not PvE vs PvE?

I wish more MMOs would split skills between PvP and PvE. All too often in MMOs the PvP whiners get their way, which screws over the PvE players. Kudos to Anet for getting it right.

@Joaquin Crowe

Amen to that! Its been a big point of contention for me in many other MMOs. And definitely something I appreciate ArenaNet doing right. :-)

@Joaquin Crowe EQ][ separated PvE and PvP stats for items and powers but I never PvPed in that game so cannot comment on how well it turned out.

Personally, I think they should add a *third* tier for items: Raid-only but that is a different topic.

@(Unverified) There is no gear progression like in WoW and there are NO instance raids in guild wars 2. At level 80 every single piece of gear is of the same power level, with more valuable placed on the armor skin.

Also, their approach solves one of the greatest problems to the pvp aspect of MMO rpgs: The "Grass is always greener" effect, where if you are beaten by a class you feel that class is massively overpowered and thusly, unfair. In GW2, you can log off, make that character, and then pvp with him without leveling up another toon, since they set you to max level in pvp automatically. You'll learn the weakness of every class, and realize that there isn't a god-class that is a walking I WIN button.
