@koehler83 what?!?!

well, whatever.

Just post the link I want to read it, because if there's no source for your statement it's YOUR PERSONAL OPINION posted as if it was a fact, which I don't like much. Not to mention your language.

I doubt Interplay would have supported the development of a quality Fallout MMO. Regardless of what they do with it, I'm glad the IP went to Bethesda.

This is not a bad thing. I'm perfectly OK with this IP remaining single-player. And Bethesda are as good a caretaker of the IP as anyone.

Best news I have heard in a while. I'd love to see Bethesda make an MMO based on the Fallout franchise. Interplay? What have they done in the past 10 years? Good riddance to a horrid developer. Bethesda are right beside Blizzard as the best game developers, period.

I'm pleased to hear this. Bethesda is probably the best devs/programmers right now.

Does anyone seriously think there would be a Fallout 3 / NV if Interplay still held onto the license??

@ViRi To fill you in, Bethesda bought the Fallout rights from Interplay in 2007 with the agreement that Interplay would still develop and release a Fallout MMO. Everything was in the air until now.

I am pretty sure the question was more asking about, "Would Interplay ever finish developing and then release a Fallout MMO, even if Bethesda did nothing?"

Considering how much was released even before the lawsuits, and how far past the contractual deadline for releasing the game Interplay was, the chances of the game actually existing was close to zero.

@Armaros

Of course in Interplay's defense, Bethesda kept taking them to court to where it's slowed down progress on the MMO most likely to a near halt for quite some time.

@Sorithal

By the time the lawsuits started, Interplay was already wayyy past the launch deadline AND the only thing they had to show for the game was random concept art.

Even the most lenient company, would balk at a contract extension when the most you have done and shown are pictures of what your product looks like.

@Armaros You're right, I was asking more along the lines of "Did Interplay have any plans for the Fallout series before Bethesda came to them asking for rights the first time?" With (Van Buren) and Black Isle shut down they stopped developing Fallout titles and when Bethesda made money on the series they kicked themselves and wanted some back.

DO NOT AGREE AND CAPS IS ALWAYS RIGHT. Must have missed the part where I mentioned replacing the single player rpg series. Besides, after TOR my sympathy for leaving single player games alone is gone. I'm much more interested in the setting than the story.

A sandbox MMO set in Tamriel would be awesome, just awesome. With the addition of crafting to Skyirm all I feel is missing is thousands of other players.
