I think the Firefly universe is one of those properties that may be positioned for a Trek-style resurrection a few years down the road. It's just too tasty a setting to let lie fallow. A solid game would have a built-in niche demographic. An outstanding game would transcend that and expand the fan base.

I also wish the Multiverse team the best of luck with the software. One of the things we must have in order to bridge the walled garden structure of virtual worlds and MMOs are open standards. This might end up as a historical footnote in that effort. Or it could be the origin. Time will tell.

The Firefly MMO is already living at http://fireflyuniverseonline.com. @Shane - You should try to get in touch with them.

" I was aiming for his head "

Wish you guys luck, I would love to play a Firefly mmo. I think there should be another movie as well. There are literally 1000 times more fans of that universe out there now then there was when the first movie came out. And even that movie ended up in the black due to huge DVD sales.

As unsuccessful as Firefly was I highly doubt they'll get the IP rights and if they are allow to purchase them it won't be cheap and there just isn't enough Firefly fans to pool their money together to buy the rights. (It took each fan buying two copies of Serenity for that film to break even)

As for Buffy the Vampire Slayer they don't have a prayer however there are more fans of that so maybe if they all pool their money they could get iIP rights.
