Running 600 points (around $7.50) in the Paragon Market and available to characters starting at level 4, the rug is similar in function to both the aforementioned Rocket Board and the magical rugs found in games such as World of Warcraft and EverQuest II. If you're attracted to the idea of levitating upholstery but still on the fence about the money, there's a trailer showing off the latest addition to the game just after the cut.

Travel powers can show you the world as you level through City of Heroes. Unfortunately, they've long been limited mostly to powers that come from within each individual character. But that's changing -- first with the Rocket Board, and now with the newest addition to the game's travel power library, the Flying Carpet. If you've long wanted to use decorative surfaces from your home to explore the dark alleys of Paragon City, your wait is finally over.

Hahaha.... nice one!, just like the magic carpet travel power in Champions Online (only 6-months later). ^^
It does make me giggle how these blood-brothers take 'inspiration' from one another. ^^

It's a magic carpet man. I don't know that anyone's taking inspiration from anyone else aside from the whole Arabian Nights thing on this one.

Yes my main has one she made for free all by herself. Never needed to swipe a credit card for it...just matts which are easily farmed for and appropriate Tailor skills. Small gnome Mages and magic carpets go well together I must say.
....by the way Mr. Lefebvre, is there some sort of "conflict of interest" policies for posting other games' cash shop items with Massively? I've been curious about this for awhile.

Massively is my beloved daily companion guide to the world of MMO's, but where is the story? I'm left wondering if Massively gets a kickback from the company for advertising.

It's called an announcement, every game has it when they do...well...anything. There isn't enough "news" to cover a full day and only so many editorials that can be written, so fluff announcements like this fill up the rest of the space.

@smartstep Well, they used to. They instituted ads and banners a year or so ago, and I blocked them all, so I wouldn't know if they were gone or not. Honestly, I've always kind of wondered how Massively runs and pays the bills, but I really have no idea.

The idea of spending $7.50 for such a thing...

Put it this way: It means every character on your account that you will ever make will have a form of flying available, so that things that are hard to get to otherwise become accessible.

I'm a big fan of this game (often called a certified fanboy), and this is neat....
....but I can wait until it goes on sale (like the previously released Rocket Board, that is mechanically identical to this power), or I have a concept that necessitates this travel power.
The real upside to the Premium level for this game is you can play almost all the content in the game for no fee, and pick and choose items like this for purchase.
