While I love the class stories, the rest of the game is pretty bare-bones, and I'm returning to greener and more feature-rich pastures. I'm a notorious game-hopper, though, and this isn't so much an indictment of TOR as it is an inevitability. That said, I did tire of BioWare's Star Wars opus sooner than expected, and that leads into today's Daily Grind question. What's the fastest you've ever burned out on an MMO?
The Daily Grind: What's the fastest you've ever burned out on an MMO?

Well, I'm taking what is probably the first of many breaks from The Old Republic. I played heavily over the last week and I managed to get two classes to 20 (and do a good bit of warzone PvP and roleplaying).

I played EVE for about 3 weeks. I liked it, but there was no-one wanting to play alongside me :3

I think you may have just unwittingly written the lyrics to the next Green Day album.

I think I had got up to about level... y'know, I think I'll finish my answer later. I'll get back to it, really, maybe in a day or two, but I just need a break right now.

The fastest I burned out on an MMO? That would be STO - I played it for two hours. Running a close second would be FFXIV which I managed to play for three hours and WoW which I managed to play for almost four hours.

2 weeks of 10 hours days is the same as 10 weeks of 2 hour days.

Rift... Lasted a little less than 2 months (I played all of beta prior though). I got to lvl 50 and walked away... never looking back.

Should we call APB an MMO? I played beta only on that one...same with STO. Neither of those games was worth paying for. Rift I paid 5 bucks for and made it to level 30, then got bored. I can't put down SWTOR though :)

Aion was probably the one I burnt out on first. I didn't hit level cap because it was too grindy for me.
As far as TOR goes try to hit 50, the final acts are great and the higher level planets are amazing. Level 20 in TOR isn't much. I did more than that in a beta test weekend.

Only level 20? I'll admit that's about when my alt-itis has been taking over and compelling me to start yet another character, but it's definitely worth going further.
That said, I think either STO or Rift were my fastest burnouts, quits, whatever. I liked STO for what it was, a way to live out the whole captain-of-a-starship fantasy, but the space combat was a bit too drawn out most of the time and ground content was meh. Rift I stayed with longer, but there really wasn't much reason to stick with it (in my opinion). It's just another high-fantasy title and the lore always felt lackluster.
I have no clue what's going to happen with TOR, but I've been playing it non-stop for the past 5 days and I still don't feel like stopping. Here's hoping my enthusiasm simply plateus rather than dive-bombing.
