@Equillian He hasn't played it AND he's a damn idiot.

The normal planets are the size of regions in LotrO and continents like Northrend and Outland in WoW, and come close to the size of Rift's entire landmass.
If that isn't enough for exploration, then I don't know what is.

I am not finding that to be true at all. LotRO feels a lot larger. The planets so far do feel small and not planet like. As a explorer type player, I live for that aspect of game play. Matter fact every couple years when I do this test I find my ratings pretty much the same percent..

Your gamerDNA is: Explorer:73%. Killer:67%. Socializer:40%. Achiever:20%

Doesn't mean I am not having a good time, I am. His point is valid though, the worlds do not feel huge honestly or even large. They feel more restrictive or like you are on a movie set and you know the walls are just "right over there" that you can't go beyond.

I agree about the exploration thing... It's just not a component of the game. When you finally acquire a bunch of quests and go out to kill things it gets interesting, but you spend just as much or more time in conversations. Still, I like the story and the artistic style they used, so I'll be taking a couple characters to the cap. Not sure after that.

As for launch day woes, I tried to connect just over 30 minutes ago. It took the server list a few minutes to come up, and when it did, it said I have -1 characters on each server. I selected my server from the early launch, which said less than 15 minutes to log in. Well, it's been over 30 minutes and I've still got about 20% to go (40th in queue, started about 190). They'll need to work on the login speed.

Game doesn't seem to be doing so hot on Metacritic... has more bad user reviews than good ones. Starting to think twice about picking this one up.

After playing it for a few days, all I can say is that the game is a blast, but is riddled with technical problems.

In a way, it reminds me of my experience with Skyrim. The difference being that I could solve most of Skyrim's problems with a few tweaks to the config file, plus a couple of mods.

Unfortunately, when it comes to SWTOR, there are no simply no tweaks to save me from watching my FPS drop from 60+ to 5/10 in every Warzone (Alderaan being the worst).

As much as it pains me, I simply cannot label this game as playable, at the moment -- and judging by the "threadnaughts" in the Customer Service and PvP sections of the forums, I'd say I'm not alone.

The potential is all there, though.

Give it a few days, if not weeks. It's launch day, the only critiques you're going to immediately see plastered all over the internet are those from rabid haters who don't seem to have anything better to do.

@Clemalum07 User reviews were quite accurate with Dragon Age 2.. it was the "pro" reviewers who made themselves look like bought off fools.

@Clemalum07 I read a lot of them, many of which I can see are butthurt WoW fans calling "WoW clone!" on this game, but I also see a lot of the good reviews simply attacking the negative reviews and saying things like "Oh, the bad reviews are just butt hurt WoW fans, if you're a true Star Wars fan you will love this game!" And not really delving into the gameplay mechanics like some of the bad ones...

Still, I think majority of the negative ones are like you said, WoW fanboys who are just mad that people are leaving their game for this one.

I'm probably going to get it anyway, but I might just wait for a real review from gamespot or ign or something.

@Lucidus Dude you have proven your self wrong on this site NUMEROUS times. You are nothing more than a pathetic troll that spreads mis information. Hell you are such a loser you probably account for 5-10 of those negative reviews.

Some insight on Metacritic "User Reviews"
Try clicking on the users who made the reviews...
.com/user/MagusGrandios -3 ratings, Average game review score: 1.0
dwarvenninja -1 rating, Average game review score: 3.0
Thorn14 -1 rating, Average game review score: 4.0
foilhat -1 rating Average game review score: 2.0

Notice a pattern? These are just the first four i felt like copying and pasting. The are sockpuppets or trolls. A user review only helps you decide if you have context. Bob likes elder scrolls but hates madden, I like elder scrolls and hate madden. If bob hates SWTOR I will probably hate it also.

If the only context is "Bob hates everything" it is not really any context at all.

Note: the sock puppet positive reviews also aren't a help.

If you really were on the fence about this game you should have pre ordered from amazon and canceled after you got your code. Would have had several days to try it out. Until then wait until some legit reviews are made, or take a chance. Because it will be months before they offer free trials.

Get a new computer or ISP. I've never seen any of the problems you're talking about and I've been in for over a week now. The lowest I've noticed an fps drop is down to about 29 from my usual 60+.
I'm by no means saying the game is perfect but I have yet to see anyone complaining in game about technical problems that can't be solved because of changing graphics settings.

Forgive me, but your reply wreaks of ignorance (it was not unexpected though).

My computer is more than enough for any modern game, it's Bioware who needs to address these issues and tweak the game's engine.
Just because you haven't seen anyone complain in-game, doesn't make it any less true.

A single trip to the official forums would tell you all you need to know, but since you already have your head buried so deep in the sand, I very much doubt you will even bother.

Also, telling me to "get a new PC," when I've built a new one just last year is unfair. And it won't ease the pain I get when I see my game turn into a slideshow, every time I try to PvP.

I've already said the game is great, in many ways. It has the potential to be one of the best even. But not until they start fixing these technical problems.

I WANT to play, I just CAN'T!

Wreaks of ignorance..

Aside from the irony of using a wrong word in the same sentence of insulting another's ignorance.

I made my computer 2 years ago, and spent $1k on it out the door. For everything including monitor, extra hard drives, and OS.

I run the game on medium settings (1280 resolution, high textures low shaders) and it is fine, even in pvp. So to believe you assembled a gaming rig 1 year ago that does not run the game, makes me believe you have:

Misrepresented your PC
Did a poor job of creating a PC
Have a severe driver or hardware error
Believe a $200 e-machine is a gaming computer.
