Im not intrested at all in SWTOR after the beta test. It lacks variety in quests and content. There should be more transports earlier on in the game and diffrent ones from 1 planet to the next. Not nessiserily ones you owned - but could only get to travel around on that planet.

Secondly. I live in EU country that is not supported at launch of the game. This is the first MMO game for last 7 years that is not supported to all of EU and for me that shows the arrogance of a company that claims to be one of the big ones. Its an insult to gamers to have such restrictions. Something Im simply not ready to accept.

So.. SWTOR ? No thank you.

Just think of how not interested we would have known you were if you hadn't commented at all :)

That's the danger of making a game that heavily utilizes voice acting. You can't get actors for every language prior to launch. Of course, I have no clue what country you are from, but that was one of the reasons the devs gave for these restrictions at launch. That said, couldn't you order a copy online and play anyway? You seem to have a better mastery of English than most people on these forums do!

@Deadalon You bring up legitimate concerns about SWTOR's gameplay and it's a shame that they couldn't manage to release it in EU at the same time. Of course, Massively is swarming with SWTOR fanboys right now so you're gonna get downvoted and get stupid, negative comments :\

I like to think of SWTOR as a Massively Multiplayer/Single Player Story Game (MMSPSG?) game because frankly, it's core MMO features are mediocre at best and nothing new. But when you get to the Flashpoints and later when you continue your class story, it can be surprisingly rewarding.

I plan to buy SWTOR as soon as they add in those same-sex relationships they said were forthcoming, and hopefully when SWTOR does make it to European shores, they have something interesting in the game for you to enjoy too :)

fully agreed. why are people downvoting his opinion? TOR is average at best as an MMO, and subpar as a game.

it does not encourage grouping, animations are twitchy, the combat mechanics are ancient, and overall, WoW offers more as things stand now.

@dudes It is in different languages, but not all possible languages, just like the text in MMO's isn't in all available languages of all the countries that the game is being played, but usually only in like german and french next to english. Usually in the languages of countries that translate and dub a lot of movies and series already.
And just the same how the top games are being done over in the native language of countries like Germany or France.

So, nothing strange at all, only now it's about VO stuff instead of text stuff.

Just so we are clear on this. I live in Iceland. There will never be any game created in Icelandic for 300K ppl. We play all our MMO games in English and have done so in the past 10 years of MMO launches.

SWOTR is the ONLY MMO game that has not been supported in my country at launch. Thats tells you everything about the service that a big company like EA is offering to their playerbase. Its quite frankly insulting.

@Deadalon Dude, you can buy SWTOR anyway and play it, what's the big deal, it's not as if there's some IP block or such.

Great points all the way through your post Naru. You are starting a trend for me, you keep posting observations and opinions I agree on. lol

Really sad that players can't post their opinions, critical or positive and why they feel that way without all the trolls. Ah well.

They are downgrading his post (and yours, and probably mine) because he failed to proclaim TOR the bestest game in the entire multiverse. That's just how it is here on Massively.

picking it up today... while SWTOR doesn't re-invent the wheel, it's probably one of the finest set of MMO tires I've yet to kick. Going to enjoy it a lot... at least until GuildWars2 comes out. ^_~

Exploration is not one of this game's strong points. The planets are just too cramped and railed for exploration to happen.

As usual, I can't quite agree with you.

1) All planets have holocrons that reward explorers for going to off-the-rails locations or keeping a sharp eye out and then once spotted figuring out how to get to.

2) On Dromund Kaas for example there are missions right outside Kaas City that almost nobody does because nothing in the game sends you to them.

Yes, the game is on a carefully crafted path. But I find it to be a little less "on rails" than post-Cataclysm WoW.

You've either not played this, or you're a damned idiot.

Going in, I was worried about it being too small or on rails to really FEEL like a big ass game... ya, get through Coruscant and tell me the game is small. If anything, I could see someone complain that it's too big.

That is actually a fair statement regarding the early planets. Not so much as you level, though.
