Is the world of Albion coming to an MMO near you? That's up for speculation thanks to a job advertisement on Microsoft's career board. The software giant, which owns Fable developer Lionhead Studios, is seeking a programmer "who enjoys playing MMO games and has significant experience with the workings of a massive online multiplayer environment."
Further requirements include "a minimum of one shipped MMO as a network programmer."
Lionhead shipped Fable III in October of 2010, and the company is rumored to be developing a "controller-based" Fable IV in 2013, according to Eurogamer.
When contacted by Eurogamer, Lionhead had this to say in an official statement: "Thanks for checking in with us! We're happy to tell you all about what we're working on. Just apply, get hired, and we promise to spill our guts!"

After all the disappointments that lionhead has released in the last years, fable III included, I too see lionhead as a legend....but when i said legend it´s more in the sens of a myth.........

Programmer?
Pseudo MMO systems in the next Fable game then... if it was a full on MMO they'd need more than just one experienced programmer.

It's already here, DAoC baby.
I was never a fan of the Fable series, but Lionhead did make that sweet god game Black and White. I'll have to keep an eye out for this one. Unfortunately it will probably be a Fable MMO.

Lionhead showed just how much they care about their customer in Fable III .
I don't look forward to a game made in haste by greedy developer and lazy scenarist

Peter Molyneux should team up with Richard Garriot.
I don't know if they'd actually be able to make a good game, but the press releases would be EPIC.

Dear Lionhead: I know you are busy and all with these new projects, but I hope you can patch that old old game of yours named Fable III. It was released a long time ago I know, 2010 is ages behind us, but I'm still falling forever below Bowerstone Castle and I don't want to lose all I did with my princess. Maybe after that I will play this game again and *maybe* purchase a future Fable. Thank you.

One programmer does not an MMO make. More likely, they are planning to dramatically advance the multiplayer option in the next iteration of the Fable franchise. After all, the last version -- seeing floating orbs for your friends -- was pretty weak.

Fable 3 was pretty terrible, MMO will be horrible.

A lot of you people are assuming they only will have 1 MMO programmer. They may have already hired half a dozen, or they maybe are putting up a request, and know that probably more than one MMO dev will apply and can thus pick as many as they want.
