I always said I'd try it if it was F2P, and now it will be! Hooray!

@pcgneurotic

And here I thought EQII was going to take up all my time. Instead of new releases, I'm having to juggle new F2P transitions. >.

Glad I canceled my sub for TOR when I did, I have a feeling this will hit NA soon.

Not to say I want the game to fail, but I would love for the F2P transition to come to the NA servers. Sure they were reasonably populated when I played for a couple months ago, but they could certainly benefit from some new blood.

I must say I'm impressed with NCSoft's F2P model for this and Lineage II. They've got very few restrictions so that you can actually experience all of the game.

NA should go F2P as well... would pay for cash shop items, but not laying down $15 for any game. Love Aion.

Another one with chat and trade restrictions. Pass.

@Dumac

Well you really can't do it otherwise and not invite the massive gold farmer population to abuse it. A basic purchase requirement removes much of that potential abuse.

@Callagan
It just means gold farmers will be paying a "tax" on their "business". It doesn't solve anything, just limits players.

@Dumac how many F2P games don't have chat and trade restrictions?
If your going too pass a game for that reason alone then you are beyond me.

@ Dumac

Indeed - this is F2P with Limitations... so I wonder if you can really call it F2P then

@Protheus all F2Ps have limitations on the free account and NCSOFT is much better than most other companies in terms of what you actually get for free vs sub

Well cash shop will be provided with 100% socket supplements and such. They were testing those with limited sale not without reason.

@Dumac & @Protheus
If you have every played Aion (the payed version) pretty much everything is unlimited (the chat / trade). So if you are interested just find a shop and buy Aion for 5$ so once it goes free to play you can enjoy all the Veteran features.
