5. Companions need coddling.

Yeah, this is really tricky, especially with only having one companion choice (your first companion) and you want to go "one way" (Light Side) and they prefer the "other way" (Dark Side or even snarky comments).

Had this problem with the Inquisitor's first companion.

Although, I am thinking, just like some things in real life, you can spend money (although, it is much money) and buy them lots of presents.

@Space Cobra

Actually, Khem Val can be annoying even when you're trying to get dark side points. He likes shows of strength and dislikes weakness: so if you have a choice of killing minions (no points) or ordering them to attack their one time friend (dark side), he wont like it when you try to send others to do your own dirty work.

Annoying, but it think it makes the companions more interesting to have, even if they're just being snarky to you.

during beta i solo'd the starting zone heroic quests. i had my pet who was utterly useless. because during the quest line he needed repairs as part of the storey and at the time i didn't know the weapons in my bags were his, so i sold them. i literally had to spend all my cash to buy gear from the vender and health pots, and i died several times before winning.

There's a small trick to that whole 'unfavorable' affection gain thing...

Most the time, if you gain undesirable affection (negative), you can ESC out of the conversation and dismiss your companion then re-engage the conversation without any influence toward them.
