Mesmerizing revelation: Guild Wars 2's Mesmer is the final class

No, faithful Guild Wars 2 fans, this is not an illusion: The Mesmer is in the game, so stop rubbing your eyes and pinching your arms in disbelief.

To be honest, if ArenaNet had announced that the eighth and final profession for Guild Wars 2 was anything but the Mesmer, there would have been worldwide riots. Fortunately, such is not the case, as the studio confirmed in a brief tweet that the Mesmer would be the last addition to the class roster.

According to the tweet, the full reveal of the Mesmer was slated for Wednesday, but the CMs said that "someone jumped the gun" and let the information slip earlier than desired. Apparently GameReactor Denmark jumped the embargo and posted a video about the reveal (the video has since been removed from the site).

We'll be waiting for the official unveiling with bated breath!

Maybe the excitement over this news break is that we're one step closer to getting a launch date? Yipee!

Its not entirely surprising, since things have been pushing hints in our faces for god knows how long.

Still a most excellent revelation, and I can't wait to see how they will be handling the mind-freaking capabilities of the class for GW2.

awesome, I knew it was mesmer though but having it be official makes me quite happy.

I'm not surprised and yet I am surprised.

No matter, many a fan just peed his/her pants from sheer delight.

Now if only someone could "leak" a release date...

It was beautiful. So beautiful. It had been so long since some substantial GW2 news I almost forgot how amazing this game looks.

Is this Anet grand anti SWTOR annoucement? Those fellows need work at this, you got to go with the biggie: BETA ACCESS, RELEASE DATE, NEW EXPANISION (not in this case) FREE STUFF!!!! with noncommital basis. I'd like to say this douchie PR tactic is a sole Blizzard tactic, but this seems to be the business standard.
