One thing tribes has going for it is quick patches. We got another patch THIS week. We now have Spectator mode and vote-kicking along with the usual assortment of tweaks and changes.

Very impressed by both the frequency of the patches and how many items seem taken directly from the forums. HiRez is absent on the forums (except for announcements) but I will gladly take that if it means patches like these come fast and furious.

Agreed. They seem to be doing a good job of fixing the little things that bug people too, like adding a check box in the settings to reduce the size of the gigantic weapon/hand models to take up much less screen space. I've seen people complaining about the weapon size since the first screenshots were released, and while it didn't really bother me, the weapons do look much better at a more normal size.

FireFall:
New screenshots, first page of FireFall manga, announced a new dev, had a cover edition of EGMi, started a holiday contest to win FireFall themed iPad 2.

Not so quiet imo.

Personally I don't get all that excited for giveaways/contests, magazine covers, and manga. Prefer to actually learn some stuff about the game. I'll include that sort of thing next time, though. Thanks.

Plantside Universe scored the first in-game footage of PS2 during their Podcast. While the video is low quality FaceTime video from an iPad, it was still drool inducing to those of us who are eager awaiting PS2.

Linky goodness:

Definitely news worthy imho. The Forgelight Engine is looking like it may be a beast. If it delivers on the promises made by the Devs, I can see it revolutionizing the entire MMO Genre.
