What's new since CBT3? Quite a lot according to the patch notes (translated by fans at ArcheAge Source). Combat and UI changes abound, players can now interact with street lights, lamps, and candles in the open world, and of course the Hariharan race is now playable. Fifteen new zones and various new monster species are also included, and you can check out some questing footage (as well as one of those spiffy hang-glider backpacks) in the three video clips after the cut.
ArcheAge CBT4 videos show questing, hang-gliding

ArcheAge's fourth closed beta test is officially here, and you can get a glimpse of it via three new videos recently uploaded at Steparu.

Looks great! The combat animations looks like they've been tweaked a bit. I love that mud effect.
I lol'd a bit when the deceased mount spawned. :( The ressurection spell is pretty neat, too- I like the way it sounds.

They really seem like busy devs over at XLGames.

Love the donkey mounts. Nice animation and I liked how they don't just magically disappear/reappear when you mount or dismount.

Your comment reminds me of when (in WoW) hunter pets didn't disappear when you were mounted. The mob of mounted riders and pets moving through Alterac Valley was intense. I'm sure it's not connected; but, it seemed the game's luster was dimmed a few shades when pets disappeared while you were on a mount.

I'll trade luster for the gang rape mob chain that constantly occurred when flying mounts were introduced.
It was funny the first few times a random hunter pet come running by seemingly without owner and a 20 mobs in tow. It quickly stopped being funny.

Sandparks!!!!! I soooooo can't wait for this game and others similar to it. Forget WoW, Rift, SWTOR, etc, I want to feel the magic again like I did just watching these 3 videos. Had that same feeling of awe watching the GW2 vids too. Notice, how you can hide in those giant bushes without seeing your character or a player's name. Great for PVP ambushes, ;D

Looking good! Only thing I saw negative was the website spamming in the chat-box (never enjoy seeing that!).

Looking good !
Hopefully someone bring it to the EU or NA and it'll be my long-term subscriber mmorpg game :)
I really don't play anything cause I am bored to death with themeparks and sandpark sound ideal :)

Looks like a standard MMO to me: kill, loot, quest. This seems to be getting positive previews and people looking forward to it and it does look smooth and good quality but I wonder what sets this apart from other MMOs of a similar type? I guess it really is a fine line between "exciting new MMO" and "WoW/EQ clone". I just hope the naval warfare and housing feature isn't a bolted on afterthought to attract gullible players and is really a feature of the main game.

There is teritorial control and werfare on 3rd continent.
You can also build castles / keeps there on 3rd continent.
For less foucused on combat players there are even things like milking cows and growing crops!
There is very nice economy planned with system like Labor points.
There is no classes - you choose 3 ability schools from 10 abilty schools avabile + you can change them in-game (though changing is supposed to be very costly and maybe time-consuming).
There is very nice open world without any loading screens (bar some instances).
Forgotten features like unique starting areas for each race.
Trial and court and prison systems for 'criminals'.
+ many other things I cannot remember at the minute
Still there are many standard features like questing like you mentioned of course.
Some parts of this game will be very diffrent from WoW / Rift / Swtor, but many things will be same or similar.
If you don't expect second coming of Jesus, but a game that bring some fresh air into genre, but at same time is not breaking ties totally with current design - then this game is doing just that.
Bit similar to GW2 - just focusing on diffrent aspects and on many non-combat things as well.

SWTOR for the themepark crowd, GW2 for the revolutionaries, and this for us sandboxers...future's looking pretty good.

Looks very average. Quest text boxes that the players clicked through and arrows at your feet to tell you where to go, oh, and epic zebra fighting. The donkey was cute though.

I also like the idea that the mount does not disappears but just hangs around.
It look good - but for me I am getting tired of these kind of games. Not sure if I will try it

I wish the game had full loot and FFA PvP. It would definitely be worth playing then.
