$10 for a Sparklepony?
I wonder if that includes horse armor...

"Sparklepony"? Doesn't sound nearly as cool as a ponycorn.

$35 for all expansions together? I think I probably paid $90 without Cataclysm.

That can't be a good sign for the 800 pound gorilla...

@PhelimReagh They've had this for the past 3-4 years. Nothing new.

I started playing WoW less than 3-4 years ago, and paid $20 for Vanilla when I first signed up, $30 for the Burning Crusade and then $40 for Wrath. So you're kinda full of it.

@PhelimReagh Wow man, rude much? I've bought a new copy of WoW around this time for the past 4 years for $5 bucks to fool around with multiboxing. These sales aren't anything new. Just because you didn't happen to take advantage of them doesn't mean they didn't exist.

@Talutha Except this is a Blizzard offer, not something you'd find on Amazon. Has this sort of deal ever existed? Probably. Was it a deal from Blizzard directly? No.

@drunkingamebar

Blizzard had a sale last holiday season with vanilla, BC for $5 each and Wrath of the Lich King for $10.

Strangely, the Warcraft 3 Battlechest (almost 10 years old) is still $39,99 in the Blizzard Store.

Because clearly, the sales are in reference to the "Game Dying".

Since the game wasn't dying in previous years, all of those Christmas sales didn't mean anything other than Holiday Sales.

The human mind is an interesting thing. However, the ignorant mind is far more fascinating.

@Vanir Aye, but fact is they are losing subs in droves. Losing grip on fans, and pushing more product for less will win some subs back. Of course they have millions of subscribers, but it doesn't look good when they are losing 100k overnight. When a product goes from 120+ USD @ the local Wal-Mart, down to 35 USD chance is things are looking bad.

It's about time that the game came down to a price that might tempt fence-sitters intrigued by the revamped old world to give it a go. Expecting new players to shell out $100+ to have the full game plus all expansions always struck me as a completely idiotic business plan and one that is probably the biggest reason for Cataclysm's collapse in player numbers.

That said, if I wanted to give an MMO as a gift this Christmas, well I think I'd be pretty poorly thought of if I gave a seven year old title that is definitively not among the most anticipated titles this season...

Having played both SW:TOR and WoW in the last few weeks, I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that WoW feels more fresh. Just my opinion.

Nods, WoW hasn't been fresh in years. Cata has been a disaster for Bliz. My prediction, WoW loses another million subs this quarter.

More fresh? WoW is the most screwed up game out there.

The "redesigned" old world was only half redesigned. All the "don't take this out of the game" whining has led to a schizophrenic feeling where half of the quests and content is old and makes no sense whatsoever in a post Cataclysm timeline.

The story is all but gone from the game. Bosses never die. They are even talking about bringing Illidan back. With nothing the players do ever having an effect, because let's face it, "[blank] was merely a setback", it's nearly impossible to feel a part of it. Especially when all you do is sit around Org/SW constantly waiting for a queue to pop.

Would not play WoW for totally free, but their strategy is good. Propably best thing they could do with Swtor releasing.

Price always speak to some.

Damn, this is a very good deal, and here last week I almost paid $50 for all this from Gamestop when they had it on sale!

I don't think I'm interested in playing WoW again just yet, but I'll buy these now while they're dirt cheap for the inevitable return when Mists of Pandaria launches.

Good price. Nice to see Blizzard finally becoming reasonable when it comes to prices.
