I'm only 17 and even I remember the joys of playing Tribes 2. Sadly enough this game doesn't get the attention it deserves.

that last death was my favorite. I often kill people in TF2 as a demo with air bomb grenades, something about having to calculate the proper angle makes it more exciting that shooting straight.

They are still making fairly drastic changes to the games systems in beta. Really surprised they can even submit it for inclusion in esports much less be featured.

HiRez has been fantastic at watching the forums and addressing players' issues in regular patches but we still have major changes being made including drastic weapon behavior modifications.

I can't imagine any esport team being able to even practice until things like that are solidified. One patch will have one weapon be the damage-dealer of choice and another will be a different weapon.

@Pingles That's what makes Tribes good, you don't have 12 different direct fire rifles that only differ slightly in dps/recharge... you have different weapons with radically different mechanics. You don't use the grenade launcher over the spinfusor because it does more damage, you use it because you want an indirect fire weapon.

Not surprisingly, it seems to have a similar look and feel to Global Agenda. Not sure that's a good thing. I play GA and it's fun but was hoping for something more.

I'm seeing the same wonky animations and physics and meek looking explosions.

@demonlife Global Agenda was based off the original Tribes (called Starsiege: Tribes) released in 1998.

I'm in the Tribes Ascend BETA and the animations/movements are way better than in GA which I've also played. They're a bit different than each other though, besides the jet packs/looks.

@SaintV Got a key a little while ago, it's really beautiful, actually. Video doesn't do it justice.

It's nice to look at in game, but gameplay has serious problems I wont go into here. Ready for e-sports, not even close.

And yes it does, unsurprisingly, look a lot like Global Agenda, in terms of player models and animations.

Global Agenda was based off the original Tribes which was released in 1998. It was an amazing game at the time. I sunk countless hours in to it.
