I can see that even orcas are not immune to the SWTOR frenzy ;-) Goodbye Samuel, we will miss you.

My games this week-end, will be my game: all the undergoing Skyrim frenzy has driven me into reinstalling Oblivion (I did resist buying Skyrim, how strong am I ^^) and I am afraid I will be sucked and stucked into Tamriel for many hours during the next days. Sorry MMOs, I will not have time for you...

As for weather in MMOs, I do not agree with Eliot as I really enjoyed the way weather is implemented in FF XI. It has a real influence on combat, especially elemental magic combat, and you can even get the weather forecasts for the next 3 days IG from NPCs in the main towns, in order to choose the best moment for your big fights.
I always feel really wet and I need to grab a towel when traveling through Pashhow Marshlands due to almost permanent rain in this area: weather can be really immersive sometimes.

@peyo01 Exactly. FFXI did weather better than any other game, because it gave you bonuses/detriments for certain actions during it.

Casting a wind spell during wind weather gave you a chance to proc 10% extra damage. Have the right elemental obi on and it guaranteed that proc. You'd also get a 20% bonus for double weather, and 25% bonus for double weather and matching day of the week. Same also applied to lolelemental weapon skills.

Granted it didn't make a lot of sense to have a blizzard in one zone and a heat wave the next one over... but in general the weather was based on seasons - more cold in winter, more heat in summer, more rain in spring etc. And certain zones had consistent weather. Was very rare to see a clear day in places like Pashhow and Beaucedine.

I don't know if I even need to mention that all I'm playing still is Skyrim. I tried the Lineage 2 F2P conversion, but without a modern wasd control set I couldn't stand it. Pretty much burned out on most MMOs around right now, TOR included...

And I'll miss the air whale. ;_;

Can the next mascot be a beluga whale? They're so derpadorable.

Mostly CoH this weekend, even though I'm in this REALLY FINAL LAST TIME beta weekend for SWTOR.I've seen all I need of the game, and since I'm going to play it to play with my partner I don't wanna waste time on stuff that doesn't get me anything after launch.

Been playing a bit of City of Heroes, but the petty restrictions on non VIP accounts (no salvage, no invention, no SG bases) isn't making it easy to recapture the old magic the game once held for me, so I might end up in LotRO instead.

I love weather in games - LotRO and Fallen Earth both do it well and it adds a lot to the atmosphere, but I'd rather have no weather than badly done weather (looking at you, TOR.)
