How does this MMO differ from all the others?

Does anyone know?

@Seffrid "War of the Immortals puts players in the role of one of eight classes, then sends them on an epic journey during which they must battle fierce monsters, solve diabolical puzzles, and generally be heroic."

It doesn't. lol

Well downloaded the 2.5g game - installed it with no issue. Started up and created an Archer.

You can only change the face (6 styles) - Hair (6 styles) and that was it.

The game starts windowed mode - prety annoying and then the world - too colorfull for me - you can use the W-A-S-D key to navigate but also point and click will move you - can be pretty annoying when you try to target enemies.

Camera rotates only left and right, and you can zoom out.

After 5 min I was already level 10 !... hmm not sure if that is the point.

So for me a no go and uninstalled the game after 15 min.

@Protheus

I was also terribly unimpressed. Being in windowed mode was very strange, as well as the top-down view. I thought I was looking at sprites for a moment until I realized I could zoom in -- but there really wasn't much reason to. I also uninstalled after about 15 min.

Then again I tried out Forsaken World and was also very unimpressed. I'm thinking Perfect World just doesn't make very good games; I doubt I'll try another of theirs.

Your thinking is entirely correct.

Anything by Perfect World Entertainment is to be avoided at all costs.

I think everyone knows this by now.

@eddiestrike

Blacklight : Retrobution is very good so far. RaiderZ looks great too. I've also thoroughly enjoyed FW.

I'm probably in the minority of vocal MMO gamers, especially on Massively, but I often found myself trying a sub MMO and saying, "I can play this same crap for free."

Can't wait for EQII F2P btw.

@eddiestrike Why? Did they burn down your dog and ran off with your wife?

@Lenn

I think he's talking about the fact that PWs' games are shoddy, and cheaply made. Forsaken World doesn't hold a candle to any western MMO I've played, or even most Korean games (F2P or not).

@InkSix

I think he means anything developed by PW. They are only publishing Blacklight: Retribution and RaiderZ.

DL'd it, played it, Love it.

For a time-waster, its definately a great game. Pets, Crafting, Dungeon Crawling, etc.

I casually hop on for a couple hours a day, and crush mother%$^&ers with my Shield as a Champion.

Only bad part that I have READ ABOUT (and to some, its been a Game-breaker) is the Trader / Player stall device. There's no auction-house per-se, rather you must set up a player shop in the market district, and STAY LOGGED ON to continue selling your wares. If you leave your spot (like...move at all...) or log off, you close up shop....

I think after an hour I was Level 25 and bored to tears.

Its an Asian grinder. You've played one - you've played them all.

Next!

Complete garbage, I am shocked that Perfect World's games have any players. They are pretty much the same game with a different coat of paint.

I think these games are pure about the cash-shop. Publish as much games per year wit a big cash shop and hope you get the income back.

And I am starting to agree with Eddiestrike: ''Anything by Perfect World Entertainment is to be avoided at all costs''

I didnt see anywhere in the trailer:

Pay shitloads of dollars and the power wil be Yours!

aka Battle of the immortals was crazy pay to own. You can feel it when you get destroyed in PvP by people that pay for upgrades on their weaps (the usuall chance to upgrade with cash shop gems that grands you 100% upgrade chance - which is 0.5% without it)
