Here's the invisible key: You can unlock and unzip your lips to finally talk freely about the next EverQuest II expansion, Age of Discovery. Sony Online Entertainment has released us from our pinky swear promising to keep mum on the project, and now everyone is free to share their experiences.
There are a couple exceptions to the NDA dropping, however. Testers still may not share anything that's being posted in the beta forums, and no screenshots taken during the testing period may be made public.
Age of Discovery is launching on December 6th. and includes many new features to the game, including the Beastlord class, the Freeport revamp, and the dungeon maker tool. Oh, and there's also a small matter of the entire game going free-to-play, but you knew that already. Because you didn't zip your ears closed.

I can't believe there was anything in this update that merited a NDA.

@InkSix
This is a limited update by comparison with previous expansions, containing a few new features such as a new class and a dungeon making tool along with the introduction of mercenaries, all of which have already been so extensively discussed in press releases, fansite articles, and videos that it seems totally unnecessary to have had a NDA.

@Seffrid I guess being able to create your own, unlimited amount of dungeons isn't a big deal?
Please dude. LDoN was one of my favorite EQ1 expansions. Anything that allows the user to create and share content with others and others doing the same in turn is absolutely awesome. How many MMO's can you name that have a similar feature? Star Trek Online? I think that's pretty much it.

Just a quick correction, its BeastLORD, not Beastmaster.

Does anyone have any experience with the dungeon maker tool? Pros/Cons? How is it?

@DerpMchurson I've heard very nice things about it overall. The biggest complaint is the fact that you don't use your own characters, but are given ones you can choose to play instead...

@Seffrid Oh I see. I thought by update you meant expansion. I misconstrued it as a snarky comment about how the new expansion is light on content. A lot of people have been complaining that it isn't worth a whole expansion.
Lol, I guess I accidentally skipped over your previous comment response. That guy was under the same impression.

Oh make no mistake, I do construe the new features as what would pre-F2P have been in free updates covered by the subscription rather than a $40 expansion, hence my referring to it as an update rather than an expansion, but that wasn't the main point I was making which was in relation to the lack of need for a NDA given the extensive information already in the public domain at SOE's behest.

@Seffrid An NDA is not to stop the spread of information about the game, an NDA is meant to stop people from talking about how terrible something is in an unpolished beta form. The only reason they pursue information leaks is to maintain the integrity of the NDA.
It's not about keeping secrets, it's to stop "reviews" of an unfinished project. A product is more free to grow and evolve when not under public scrutiny.
