Is Fallen Earth any good?

I think it's very good. Whilst not to all tastes (if you're an endgame raider type then look elsewhere) it differs from the standard MMO template in several ways - no class system, no tab targetting, little emphasis on loot drops since crafted gear is almost better.

Most importantly, to me anyway, the world is absolutely stunning - huge, detailed, very atmospheric and quite beautiful in a burnt out wasteland way. There's a reason why so many screenshots feature the sunsets.

I'd also add that the F2P model is probably the most relaxed out there - you pay for non-essentials only, as all actual content can be accessed by anyone, paying or not.

@EMUJoe Small and quiet. For the first 30 levels or so there basically nothing going on.

@EMUJoe

The population exploded when the game went F2P, and as its single server game like EVE it's an interesting mix of PVEers, PVPers and RPers all in the one world.

The official forums are a bit of a cluster**** at times, like all MMOs I guess, but the in-game playerbase is exceptionally welcoming, friendly and helpful, and the GM support is second to none.

Thanks for the response, I have been looking for a decent sand-boxy game. and a post apoclyptic game is most decidedly not the run of the mill fantasy game.

I knew it wouldn't be long before MoneyFirst started screwing up Fallen Earth.

"New Booster Consumables - Reward Merchants and the Marketplace will soon stock consumable versions of Premium subscription benefits. These low cost items can grant increased EXP, Crafting, Harvesting speed, and more. If you're already a subscriber you can still pick up a few boosters if you want - they stack with Premium! "
