I decided to try it. Made an account, but when I try to log in to apply the code, it asks me to log in... so I do and it asks me to log in again. Rinse & repeat.

@SoupViking The beta period does not start until tomorrow, so you won't be able to log in today.

you guys are stupid. it never failed the first time. the parent company did (flagship). mythos at the time was a huge success and beta players (including myself) had fun playing it and couldn't wait for it to come out.

i hope that with this release that t3fun learned their lesson and not screw up what flagship started. this is not a typical MMO and turning it into one was the worst mistake that happened last time.

Not stupid, just misinformed.

I was hoping that someone with experience with the game like you would post.

Perhaps you could let us know what you like about it, what game it most resembles, how PvP is handled, the art/play style, etc.

I'm intrigued.

that screenshot looks like it's a 10 year old game. Not trying to spread hate, just does.

What I don't understand is: why another beta? Hasn't this game been through two already? Has it changed so significantly that another is justified?

@Lenn

Have you paid much attention to it?

First time it was owned by Flagship, and it was pretty much an upgraded Diablo where players were connected via in-game town hubs rather than lobbies outside of the game world. It was pretty much in beta for a good long while and sadly Flagship went bankrupt and so Mythos vanished for awhile. The beta was actually hugely enjoyable by those of us who played it and it's a shame it had to go...

Because then apparently some Asian company took it up and butchered it horribly, basically turning into a WoW-type MMO. None of the races look like they originally did, and overall the quality of the game has been reduced majorly. This was then brought into Europe by Frogster, and that was the more recent (failed) beta that Massively has been covering.

Also apparently Redbana -was- going to do Mythos as well for the US, but that kind of vanished off the map and was stuck in the alpha stage for ages.

So now T3Fun is bringing a "global" version of it. From what I'm hearing it sounds like it's going to be the failure butchery that Frogster tried to run, but who knows, maybe it'll be the gem that Flagship started way back when.

If I had, I wouldn't have asked.

I played the original CBT and felt it had a lot of flaws. After Overworld was introduced, I liked it much better, but it still needed a lot of work.

I applied for the American RedBana version, but that never happened.

I tried the Frogster version and couldn't stand what they did with it. I never played past my initial play session.

This is a game that looks simplistic, has a lot of potential and could be a lot of fun if done well. Hopefully that'll be the case this go 'round. We'll see.

Hanbitsoft ended up with the IP for both Hellgate and Mythos when Flagship failed. Hellgate Global, its relaunch of Hellgate: London, is already out. Now Mythos is being relaunched, again. Don't know that I would hold the past against them. Certainly no reason not to at least try the beta.

not sure what they will do different...i played all the iterations so far and flagships was by far the best.the frogster forgot not everyone is Asian and made it so grindy 90% of the population didnt get to level 30 before leaving...im sure this will be no different.

FYI - you can't apply the code. When I try it (in Chrome, btw), it just brings up a window that tells me to check the forums or facebook for the CBT schedule. Also, I registered for the forums (which requires a completely separate registration, grrr) and never received my validation email (even after requesting it again). Frankly, this doesn't seem very well managed by T3Fun...

Snagged a key, signed up for an account, tried to use the verification url...and can't get it to work. Not clicking on it, not copying & pasting the raw url, not variantions on cutting off parts of the url... If they can't handle basic account creation I don't see the company doing anything else well.

If T3 is behind it you can guarantee that it's going to be a giant cashgrab with limited development behind it.

I think I'll pass.
