The second bit interests me. I got to the stage where it was more interesting to wait for skills to train offline than do anything in game. I ended up in a loop of generating resources (mining, harvesting) to chuck into the shrine sinks for shinies.

I also chased a few achievements here and there, but I'm not really that motivated by grinding stuff 937 times or whatever. Visited most of the world, only to find them relatively the same with different resources, and the occasional delight like Ancestral Lands, the Tower and secret rooms unlocked by coloured keys. Then got bored.

Street construction only when released by the devs and tree wars shouldn't be the limit of what players can do to affect the world. Never saw a rook attack, but it seemed to be a rather cyclic idea - NPC comes in, wrecks everything, players cooperate, chase it off, build everything back to status quo.
