Well, I am impressed. This along with going full F2P just might get my attention back. With mercs I might be able to actually level up to catch up to end game now. Good move SOE!

@Zantom

Nothing is Free To Play, it's Micro Transaction To Play..

I wish EQ2 luck but it lost my attention years ago. Moved on.

@JayDay

If it lost your attention, you wouldn't be posting here...

You'll be back. They always come back.

F2P, new expansion *and* FP revamp *all* on the same day? Man, I'm calling work right now to book a few days off!

Not to nit-pick, but they haven't revealed any new features here. $40 is a hefty price tag for a new class and a dyod not available to your avatar (your avatar's avatar? bleh). Freeport revamp is a GU, not part of expo.

@shmegger

Honestly, if they just released the Beastlord for $40, I'd pay it without blinking.

It's an impressive list of features, and will doubtless greatly enhance the game. However, it's down to the game being F2P now that makes this an over-priced paid-for expansion rather than a series of free updates.

I can't wait to play. I'm really enjoying this F2P revolution. It allows me to play more, and if it's really good, spend more too. Hell, feed me enough neat things and I'll give you more than 15 a month. When I stick to a F2P, I usually look at an extra 20 dollars like it's a prepaid card burning a hole in my pocket.

This steaming pile of refuse is the latest garbage SOE is going to sucker people into buying. THERE ARE NO NEW ZONES. THERE IS NO NEW CONTENT. In addition, these "design your own dungeon" gimicks CANNOT BE PLAYED WITH YOUR OWN CHARACTER. They are like the old EQ1 monster missions--you have to run them with a premade template avatar, not your character.

Add to this that the +20AA has NO NEW AA -- only an increase in the cap to buy the worst stuff you passed over before. Oh, and in addition to this big pile of TOTALLY WORTHLESS that you will be paying $40 to swallow, you get to be abused, maltreated, and generally treated like garbage by the worst GM and developer staff in the industry.

Oh, and if that was not good enough reason to RUN SCREAMING from EQ2, the developers have recently decided that they like to COMPLETELY DELETE stats from quested gear, void out the total utility of COMPLETE GEAR SETS, and leave some people's characters with NO FUNCTIONAL GEAR and do so with NO exchanges, no refunds, and no recourse for that gear. So, yeah, go play this if your local masochism parlor is closed and you really need someone to treat you like total garbage and charge you for the privilege.

@ SonyHatesYou

Yeah, yeah, yeah, same old argument every expansion. It seems everyone has forgotten that this is the last expansion you'll pay for. All content in updates will be free. The zones you're looking for is not with the expansion you're paying for but with content in updates shortly after this will be released. Cobalt Scar, Sky Shrine, Western Wastes, et cetera...The Sleeper (Kerafyrm) will be reintroduced into EQ2, also the God of War, himself, Rallos Zek (Not an avatar). Another point to make is that no one has yet been to the Plane of War and they're still crying for new content. GU62 is due sometime in December...hold your ignorance before bellowing out the crap everyone else is saying and form your own opinion.
