Do they do anything out of the ordinary MMO gameplay?

@Tezcatli does it need to? Not sure why that would matter.

@JordyChrist Perhaps, like many of us, he's a wee bit tired of MMOs that are still stuck in 2005.

ditto the above - what is this? No Massively title tag even?
Is it just another tab targeted, gear based fantasy MMO?

Y'all (Massively) should at least make them do a meet and greet/ dog and pony show before you give them the traffic.

I'm not a fan of sifting through marketing and lore to figure out game basics:
Open world / Zoned?
Skill based / Class based?
Combat type?
Crafting?
Housing?
Realistic / Japanimated?
Cosmetic / P2W item shop?

That's why I come here :)

Any fans care to share?

@HiroProtagonist7 yes I am a fan of the first game and I'm sure it win play very much the same. I'm not sure why a title has to be genre breaking in order for people to care. It is bound to be a fun game, drawing from the last games lore and mechanics. With tweaks to streamline game play...much like every other sequel within the genre.

@JordyChrist

Not sure about the Op but my questions would be:

1. Is this a standard MMO or is it an RTS, etc.?
2. Is it open world or instanced?
3. Is it 3D movement or a 2D or 2.5D game?
4. Fantasy setting or something that sets it apart?

I'm at work and will check it out when I get home but just curious.

I would imagine it's fairly similar to the original Archlord. In fact, there's a whole film about a kid who gets addicted to playing Archlord and loses his marbles. Check that out, might give you some ideas. :D ;)

Okay. Got my key and signed up.

Beta does not start until the 30th and it runs through to the 7th. Maybe Massively guys can put that in the post?

Ether way, I'll be giving it a go in 2 days. Anyone else?

For the last week I have been playing SUN, so many great changes to that game, and 3X Exp till Dec. 7th. I hope they keep developing that game. But I will be checking out this one too.

Hey Webzen get your forums back up, it might help

You can see some gameplay footage on youtube by searching for "Archlord II g-star 2011."

I like what little I've seen, and will definitely give it a shot, but I'm a little worried about the click-to-move mechanic that the person playing the demo utilized. I've never grown accustomed to that play-style.

@Plastic It's 2011 the idea that so many of these games actually still use that is just amazing. At best it should be a option and nothing else. Games that still lock you into that are just so pathetic and antiquated.

Funny this came up here, just last night there was a debate over WASD vs Click to move in General chat 1 during the SWTOR beta. There was one guy complaining that you couldn't click to move and calling WASD antiquated. I figured he was either from Asia or a fan of Asian MMOs - Click to Move seems pretty big there - a lot of their games have it and when it's the only way to move it's a deal breaker for me too. It's great for RTS, but very immersion breaking when you're role playing a character vs controlling an Army IMHO

This video looks like there is WASD for sure, but the guy's font is screwed up so I can't read anything (LOL)
