I took a quick peek at the new WoW talent Calculators...

I...Im at a loss for words. Its almost like D3 builds...except the fact that you get the inherent abilities from the old Trees you choose at level 10 (Corruption from Allfiction, etc). You pick one of 3 abilities on each tier, then go from there...

I never found an interest to come back for Cataclysm, MoP has me glad I did'nt.

@Faction 3

Blah blah, you're wrong, blah blah, the old tree systems were terrible because they gave the illusion of choice while in practice requiring narrow pigeonholing to be effective, blah blah, this system might actually make personal preference a viable way to go, blah blah.

@Faction 3

yup, it's the same as Diablo, Blizzard is all about cutting development costs now. It keeps the shareholders happy, screw the game players.

All it takes now is a few art boys to change icons and presto chango two talent trees for two different games. Anyone tells you different they haven't been paying attention to what Blizzard is up to these days.

Blizzard is no longer a gaming company it's a corporation who's only goal is to "monetize" the player base as much as possible while telling that same player base it's all for them and it's "fun and engaging".
Kind of sad to see, shame what too much money does.

I stopped playing it and have no plans to go back. You were saying?

I just like to apply a little logic to understanding why things are done instead of making hasty judgements based on my own prejudices.

@jimr9999us

Funcom will milk those who will buy TSW with double dipping Box + Sub + Cash Shop and then after 6-12 months TSW will be converted into freemium game.

Enjoy.

I will never trust Funcom after putting cash shop into game from start and stating that cash shop WILL be expanded + stating that experiences from AoC freemium transition will be used.

LoL - I was interested in TSW, but now not really. I won't invest my time and money into project with businesss model concept like that.

@smartstep yeah, cash shop is SOOO horrid, far worse than forcing every player to pay a higher sub for content they don't want.

Must be nice being rich, I wouldn't know, I'm good to afford $15 a month. Raise the sub price to make me re-buy the same cosmetic items over and over again and I can't afford to play, but if they keep the sub low and let me only buy the vanity items *I* want then I end up paying less.

If you are so bent out of shape that there may be a hat that you don't own, just buy out any new item in the cash shop. You get your "100% of everything for $40 a month" sub game, I get my "90% of everything but I can still afford food" game.

Everyone wins.

Nicholas Lovell posted an update to his article at http://www.gamesbrief.com/2011/11/bigpoint-sells-2000-spaceship-drones-for-1000-euros-each-in-just-four-days/. It's here: http://www.gamesbrief.com/2011/11/bigpoint-does-sell-the-tenth-drone-for-1000-eur-but-may-not-have-made-eur-2-million-from-it/.

I apologize if this story has already been updated here on Massively.
