The game is still called The Secret World, but the newest installment of This Week in MMO is all about taking some of the secrecy out of the game. Gary Gannon, joined by Mike Schaffnit and Jason Winter, kicks the show off by talking about all the information found in the latest hands-on preview of the game and reacting to some of the more interesting decisions revealed therein.
But as on a late-night television advertisement, just wait -- there's more. After all, Star Wars: The Old Republic just dropped its NDA, and since the show is already about removed bits of secrecy, it would be wrong not to talk about that. The show also digs in to the latest news out of MechWarrior Online; the cast debates whether or not the game will even deserve to maintain the "MMO" label without a persistent world. Click on past the break to see the full show in all its glory!

Well Gary FunCom's other MMO, Age of Conan, has been letting players sell mats since it came out in 2008 so it wouldn't surprise me one bit that they are doing in The Secret World. My only concern that it will encourage Chinese Gold Farmers and clutter global chat with endless spam...

If they do end up selling mats in the CS, just bind the mats to the player. that way when they make an item it's bound to them and they can't re-sell it in the AH for outrageous sums. The economy is safe and everybody wins in the long run.

As the author of the TSW preview, here's some info for this installment:
Clarification on quests for TSW, you can only have 3 quests at a time. You don't have more in a journal, you have 1 of each type. If you pick up a new quest, you abandon the quest you already have (although your progress isn't lost).
As for quest hubs, from what I had access to in the beginner area, there were not that many quests in the 3 hubs that I saw. One had 5 quests, one had 4 and one had 2.
Crafting mats from the cash store: FunCom said "maybe" they'd be available, and if so, only some would be available. You wouldn't be able to craft the good weapons from stuff you buy, you'd still need to get the big drops to be able to craft them. The crafting system wasn't shown to us nor was it finished, but they talked about BOP mats for the top weapons.
