I have yet to really play the relaunched/freedom CoH (and I know, I really should since I consider myself a fan of the game: I at least got some nifty names from the sub-server).

But yeah, I was thinking about, "What is going to happen to the Snakes?" when the new Tutorial launched.

I kinda miss them. Sure, they make no sense and were punching bags and we never see them again (actually, we really never see most of the lower level groups as we level our heroes/villains either. I don't see Dr Vahz or Skulls harrassing my Heroes with a Level 50 NPC).

I liked the snake cinematics during the missions and the whole intro, even though there was no voice-overs. They were fun and now they are gone. :(

@Space Cobra

There are still some missions in the mid 40s which deal with the snakes, or rather the Elder Snakes - a bit tougher ones.

And there are still snakes in Port Oakes also. The old missions are probably available through Ouroborus also, although I have not checked that.

It does make me a little sad to see the Snakes so drastically sidelined by the Mercy revamp. Sure some of their missions got repetitive, but they were a bit different, and the snake temple map was good, and it's not like villains won't be fighting Longbow enough for the rest of the game that they really need to start on them in Mercy.

All together now: "We mussssst protect the eggsssssss!"

Good times.

Maybe the snakes will show up in the revamped Dark Astoria? Who knows! They certainly fit with the spooky theme, not to mention the whole Incarnate dealie.

I've always thought these guys where CoH's version of the Naga. And had a similar history. A lesson learned to those delve too much into mysticism for gaining power....

...and by Elune do some of those hit hard for their obscure levels. :(
