The idea of a turn based mmo fascinates me. Darkwind is the only one I have ever run across. This, if it is well done, should prove to be an interesting diversion for the traditional mmo weary.

@EuchridEucrow

If you're interested in turn-based MMOs, one that I really enjoyed is Atlantica Online.

@EuchridEucrow

Dofus and Wakfu from Ankama have turn based combat, both are incredibly popular too.

Wizard 101 is turn-based, or at least the combat is. I think Dofus too? And the one Beau looked at recently with the Egyptian theme - name escapes me...

I plan on checking out this MMO - as the original UFO PC series was a blast.

UFO Online makes one classic turn based error and that is that enemies automatically move to you irrespective of LOS etc.. as if they always know where you are.

This makes it all but impossible to maintain a combat at range and use any element of surprise.

shame I used to love the Xcoms was hoping this would be similar..but not so much :(.

I'm more of the AAA type MMO-player, yea, yea, one of "those" people with an active WoW subscription. But, I am all about turn based, thinking, strategic games. I long for a time when the MMOS (and games in general) stop chasing the latest and greatest graphics and flash and focus on the things that make games fun.

There is a lot of potential in these browser based games to make games which prioritize FUN, rather than graphics simply because of the graphic limitations of the medium.

Heck, I'd love things as old school as a Magic the Gathering MMO (yea I know there is one, but it's a pay to win garbage pile).
