@jslim419
I don't know about you but as someone from the outside looking in I found this very informative. All you seem to be doing is flaming those that don't consider this game the second coming.

While commenters debate the pro's, con's and nuances of this NDA lift..

...here's something sorta on topic to fill in the time in between the game release:

(...no, because I really don't have anything else to really add.)

"NDA drop. Just wait til they open up the NDA drop.. then you'll see. That's when they can't pay off anymore writers and gaming sites, and you'll read all the things people can't write about now."

For months, all you heard was posters saying "When the NDA drops, you'll hear all about the bad stuff".

Now NDA drops and people haven't said one original thing that's any different from when the first beta players were leaking stuff.

Seriously, did anyone read in the almost 200 posts here something actually "NEW" from before? If not, that means it's a pretty darn good game. The only thing is taste, not anything mechanical or gamebreaking.

Considering I felt the usual fans fearing mass subs leaving the games they are playing now to TOR, I am Jack's lack of complete surprise at no new news during this NDA drop.

@real65rcncom

That's what I been saying this whole time. I couldn't link to the sites to prove it, but I always said that nothing would change when the NDA drops. The people that hate it hate it, and the people that love it love it.

I was in the beta. It will likely do well but I'm not buying the game.

I see zone design that reminds of the hideous zones in WAR. And companions just started to get more annoying as time went on rather than making the game interesting. I got to the point where I wished I could kill them all and play without them.

It will probably do better than SWG. It would be hard to do worse.

Ok, enough with your choices do not have any meaning in the game line. That is hyperbole. Your choices can affect your loot, how your mission/story progresses, as well as your light/dark side points. If you want your choices to have large lasting efects on the game world/story you need to stick to single player RPGs.

The Good:
+Some of the best storytelling in videogames
+Crew System rivals STO's Duty officer System in terms of adding layers of depth to the game (i.e. assign crew members to missions and receive either gameplay or story rewards)
+Some of the best multi-part instances available, esp. The Black Talon
+Beta UI asks lots of questions regarding the "fun" of each mission and questions regarding client stability
+Little to no lag for me

The Bad:
+Lots of quest bugs: from unclear directions, dialogue not playing, lipsyncing not working on some content (i.e. Black Talon Flahspoint)
+Very linear first ten levels.
+Lack of PvP Emphasis

Why is everyone arguing here? Just jump on for the Thanksgiving beta weekend and try it for yourselves for free. If you think you'll like it, you probably will, if you think you won't, you'll find out for sure. Don't let biased fanboys or haters decide for you on some heated comments section of a website.

I had a blast playing this game, maybe you will too.

@hereafter

Wow, really? Because we want to discuss and learn more about the games mechanics, crafting, pvp, gear etc from those who have beta tested it. Is that such a hard concept to understand?

Honestly it is the fanboi reaction to discussion that makes me want to cancel my collectors edition pre-order. You all annoy the hell out of me, that coming from someone who is a fan of the franchise, short comings and all that Lucas has inflicted upon it. Hell I'm one of those older fans who actually stood in hot lines in the summer when the original movie came out in the 1970s.

Stop being a discussion stifling fan boy and instead promote discussion of the product. You and your fellow fan boys actually "will" drive away some who might play the game due to your knee jerk constant natter.

@Celtar I think you're taking out your frustrations on the wrong person. There's nothing fanboyish in Hereafter's post.

I hear if you stand in front of a mirror and say "fanboy" seven times in a row you will get a big surprise! Go do it now! I'll wait.

(hint: Fanboy man appears and robs you of 100 points of I.Q.)

I'm going to state the obvious that TOR is not for every Star War fan out there. But Bioware has been able to put story into the game very well.
I think is a very good for the game and mmos in general.

Well, I went into last weekend expecting a lot out of the story and voice-acting, and not much else.

I was very pleasantly surprised by how much fun the combat is, and I was blown away by the low-level flashpoints. Both had one fairly tricky (but not overly difficult) encounter. Group dialog decisions had a huge effect on the overall run.

The sound overall is fantastic - not just the voice acting, but the sound effects and music as well. The game is very linear, but so were KoTOR/Mass Effect. It's not a bad thing, in my book. BioWare does linear very, very well.

The only thing that really irked me were a lack of UI options. The UI they have isn't bad, but I would really like to have some more options to set things up for my own screen and eyes.

I have not tried space combat.

Frankly surprised the NDA got lifted after that weekend ;)

The story is awesome as is the voice acting. The combat is good, turn based without an auto attack, but good.

The engine is a mixed bag though. The performance of it is terrible. Like 24fps in the open world on AMD's best terrible. Instances are better pushing closer to 74fps. Texture pop in, texture corruption, missing models all together... not a good start. It is however smooth somehow despite being slow.

Most bugs I had were graphics related. Missions have a "too high level" cap on them so try to do them before they go deep green or you can't update them. On the graphics side, my first run through the toon creator... no toon. Chosing races, slider options when on screen is nothing but the hanger deck, difficult ;) The bottom option for the talk wheel tended to go square on me. The avatar head section of the UI tended to show as a pink square as well. During some dialog I had other players walk into my phase, right dab between me and the mob. On other cinematic sequences, the mob would point to a cage and the mob in it was either gone, shrunk to mini size or present.

Granted these aren't show stoppers but they are in the starter area so I can only assume the later stuff is even less polished. Its not surprising since Bioware like Bethesda tends to launch functional but not bug free.
