@Lucidus

Isn't it getting uncomfortable, you know, having Ren54's hand up your ass, you know, making you type all of his bottomless troll garbage for him? Don't you want to have an independent thought?

Cut the strings, man, cut the strings!

@ real65rcncom

What you shoudl do is download the game , but not test.

Stephen Reid said that you will be able to patch to the live version of the game from the coming up client which you should be able to download this coming up Tuesday.

Of course he also added that its subject to change, but I doubt it.

Haters gonna hate.

I played the last beta weekend and I loved it. In their survey I told them I loved it. I loved it so much, that I got four of my friends to sign up for pre-orders.

If the NDA was lifted, I could tell you why I loved it, but I cannot.

@unverified

First off, I myself never got past level 30 during my beta weekend, however I have a few friends who have been in beta for over 6 months and the game has major issues past level 30. Period. Story lacks content, tons of bugs still ingame major quest lines/story lines not working. And Yes, I am inclined to believe my friends since all last weekend thats all everyone was talking about in general chat.

Yes basic bugs exist in all games but no excuse for the 20 plus bugs still in the game from levels 1-15. (I reported them all like a good little beta tester)

And yes it is common practice to NOT life the NDA when a game has major issues and the Devs do not want to ruin their launch. When a game is solid and a ton of fun to play the NDA is lifted asap to help spread the word.

Its odd that you never had any bug issues with your saber not being in your hand during combat seeing how thats all everyone was chatting about in general chat. Well that and the fact that when they gave everyone toons over level 40 to assist in testing higher level content it totally broke the entire chat application. (Wow, thats not a major bug or anything huh?)

And about it being in beta since April.......Uh the games been being worked on LONGER than any other MMO out there and lets face it, It has a chance of being another Tabula Rasa where it was in beta for six years and still was a shell of a game.

And lastly, with your "ZOMG! YOU dont know what the f@#$ your talking about" statement, Use your head dumbass, stop being the nerd raging fan boy that you so obviously are and realize I am saying these things as

1. As a player who wants to see SWToR succeed and do well long term because I have been waiting to play this game for a long long time now

2. And I think people who have not yet had the opportunity to play the game know the truth about its current state.

@Aang The game definitely needs probably 4-6 more months of work before release. The fanbois will praise it as the 2nd coming, but the rest of the world is going to rip this game to shreds come December. And this is coming from someone who never would have believed what I'm typing right now before this past weekend.

I find it so funny that gaming "communities" always try to be dismissive of posters who do not agree with their general opinion on forums. Saying things like "Aang obviously doesnt know how these games work" to make them selves sound "superior" or more "In the Know"

I do not think I am the best tester or most experienced gamer in the world or on these forms but I have been playing MMOs since AC back in 1999 so I do think my opinion holds a little bit of weight. And its good that some of you disagree but I am not attacking the game, I am trying to be honest about it and the situation it appears to be in currently.

It's because you take the stance of "This game blows harder than a 100 year old grandpa with his birthday cake. Enjoy fanbois! lololol"

Rather than the constructive "I believe this game is not ready for release yet, but I wish Bioware/EA all the luck"

@(Unverified) Not only that, but people who have disagreements with a new MMO always seem to stem from the same argument they had with the last MMO. It's either "bugs" or WoW with lightsabers, machine guns, super powers, etc. It gets old. We know what to expect already. You aren't informing us of anything new. Plus, regardless of the NDA, people who are really looking forward to this have already found information they need to know. Plus, you guys always seem to emphasize and hype up how "bad" something is when it really isn't that big of a deal at all. It's like you are on a righteous crusade to keep people from playing it for your own motives.

I guess this is what my mysterious email was referring to, then, when it said I would be participating in a beta soon. I have to work the night of the 25th, but my weekend's pretty clear.

Bioware gets my award for "the most awful dates for everything".

Open Beta date of Thanksgiving weekend.
Release date close too close to Christmas

What is next, an in-game live event with an awesome one-time reward on New Years Eve starting at 11:45pm?

Guess I'm just crying because I won't even be home from holiday travels until beginning of Jan.

@paraLogiki Consider it a blessing. Due to the way the game is designed, you really do NOT want to be on the same quest as everyone else, esp a launch day "everyone else." Unless you like waiting in line for quest spawns.

@Lucidus True, but I'm usually able to get ahead of "the pack". But you're right, now I can take my time and enjoy the Single Player RPG with a subscription! :)

Look deeper into it.

They have done weekend beta's on the past 3 holiday weekends and now are doing one on Thanksgiving weekend.

Would Blizzard do that? No. Why? Because they will not be in the office over the holidays, never have been.

Bioware has stated that their support center in Ireland is going to be 24/7.

I think this may be a subtle way of proving it.

Yeah, I agree with you.

But I choose to blame their EA overlords. Specifically, Bioware wanting more time but EA "subtly" pressuring them to give a release date. To me, it was clear when the EA release time-table was leaked (like middle of this year?) that it was too soon for a company like Bioware.

A release date agreed to that early, especially with a company like Bioware suggests (to me) with Bioware's history, EA was pressuring them for a firm release date.

I am sure there are bugs Bioware would like to polish. I saw some, mostly graphical one (especially in regards to the lesser-used in-game player models/body types). Such things are bothersome, but they don't bug me too much (and I may even get a laugh out of them!).

Will be "thankful" when I get my invitation and the key/registration is not somehow glitched. Really want to see if it.

The haters of this game make me smile. I am glad I am not pathetic enough to let a game bother me to the point of trolling a comments section. You are obsessed and Bioware has successfully made you their bitches.

@Clemalum07 To be honest, the fanaticism of both fanboys and haters is making me sick. It's getting really tiresome to have to wade through countless penis-measuring contests and downright obnoxious remarks to find a post I really want to read.

Actually what makes me smile is watching uninformed fanbois cry foul when you tell them this game is still not ready after more than 5yrs of work on it. So sad

@Aang

A few bugs does not render a game unplayable or not fun (see Skyrim). If you are on a tester weekend and see a bug that bothers you report it.

Until, the stress tester weekends there was far more testing of the high level content mostly due to the free 50 that Bioware gives regular beta testers. I have some pvp issues that I will discuss later after the NDA drop.
