I have the 25th-28th off from work. I haven't been this excited for time off for quite a while. ^_^ Definitely looking forward to the testing, and hoping it's as fun as I've heard it is.

Have already been in ongoing testing for quite some time (and pre-ordered on the strength of that) but I'm still excited about the big weekend because it means I can finally share the game with the other half and our friends. It'll be glorious (unless it breaks!).

While I pre-ordered and am playing TOR regardless, I don't care about the beta at this point.

There are simply too many games like Skyrim, Arkham City and the like now that I'm playing/doing before the TOR launch.

If they had gotten me months ago when I was in a "dry spell", I might have jumped at the chance but now I'm simply not interested in the beta.

I'll wait until launch and then download the whole game at one shot and enjoy.

@real65rcncom

I don't think that patching a beta build into the full game launch day is going to be an option anyways so you won't be missing out as far as that goes.

I have been defending Bioware/SWToR for a while now but I am going to have to agree with those who say Bioware has done a piss poor job of handling this game up to this point.

I got into the beta last weekend and the game is ok and plays alright but had plenty of little bugs still in it....and sorry but the argument of "Well thats why its still beta" does not hold water seeing hows the games been in beta for what? 5 years? And you still have basic bugs like your light saber not being in your toons hand during combat and holograms not showing up to give you quests etc etc..

And no, you should NOT have to play the game or sign up for the beta to know what the general populace of the game think of it. Right at a month out and still no NDA lift? I think they are worried that people are going to tell gamers and game sites that the game still needs A LOT of work once you get past level 30.

@Aang

You are pretty ate up with the downs. A few points cupcake.

- Bugs exist even in long standing MMOs, like WoW, lotro, etc. No game is ever bug free. From what I saw, there are no game breaking bugs. Put emphasis on "little'.

- Its been in "beta" since around April. It was in Alpha then Alpha 2 before that. Did you mean "development".

- Ive NEVER had a bug where my saber didn't show during combat. You might need a new PC if your gfx are that bad.

- Its common practice to not lift the NDA til really late. I played from 1-50 multiple times. There is PLENTY of content past 30.

You act like you know what the fuck you are talking about. You said you got into the test this past weekend. I seriously doubt you got over 30. If you did, then why are you here complaining when you were so addicted you spent your whole weekend doing it?

@Aang

haha, WoW has been released for 7 years and still has bugs...
...yeah, welcome to the world of MMORPG's.

They didn't release without a ton of bugs, every patch has a ton of bugs, every expansion has a ton of bugs.

Welcome to the desert of the real.

I did have the saber bug. It was rare, didnt happen last beta. Aang doesn't seem to realize how games work. Sometimes, you change things and break nee things... Thats why beta testing is there.

Between the last two weekends, almost every piece of feedback I had was addressed and I'd imagine we'll see many more improvements made in the final five weeks.

You do realize that many of the "redone" zones in WoW had "bugs" during beta that still exist today right? Bugs are bugs, companies fix them or they don't. As for your NDA issues, that's every game.

@Aang There are quite a few bugs in the game, but not THAT many. However, what concerned me the most was how many of the game systems needed a LOT of attention still, like character creation, UI issues, dead / lifeless world / etc etc etc

NDA hasn't been lifted yet since they don't want people to find out how badly the engine blows so all the preorders cancel for refunds. Probably licensed the cheapest crappiest engine they could find and ported over the boring dated look of Kotor1&2 and figured the derp derps won't care it's a Star Wars game.

If you were in beta and still have that viewpoint, it's because your computer blows and you can't run it with everything maxed out.

@cazicthule The graphics are the least of it's problems, although the "fat" model is just plain stupid. The core mechanics of the game itself are outdated by at least a decade. That's the problem with SWTOR.

Maybe you can use that $60 you saved to buy yourself a video card that was made in this decade?

Ran fine with no problems. 60FPS, and with a *gasp* 60$ graphics card.

So they are letting everyone that registered for Beta into Beta because they are worried that people won't like the game if they know more about it?
