Man, what I would really love to see is some more stuff in the marketplace. It's like Old Mother Hubbard's bleeding Cupboard in there right now.

@pcgneurotic The styles all suck as well. Nothing superhero-y to be found.

While I agree most of the stuff in their stucks, I don't mind the wings that are attached the the toons arms

@pcgneurotic This.

They've got this massive F2P player influx, and nothing worth buying in the shop, I'm enjoying the game and want them to succeed, but all they're doing is pulling potential customers into their store with nothing to sell them.

Looking forward to GU6 but I'd be a lot happier if SOE would take stronger action to fix their past mistakes.

The in game economy is still completely broken from the money dupe loophole and they allowed people to keep up to 100 million of their billions when at best they would have only managed to gather up around 10 million without all the duped money and items floating around that destroyed any real in game economy. Prices for rare items went from 100-500k and up to 1M for very rare items. Those same items were suddenly selling at 10x the price or more.

Does SOE really expect people to pay to access their escrow accounts when they have let the in game economy become destroyed by exploits? SOE hasn't made any actual progress for fixing the in game economy... leaving people with 100M of exploited currency is still game breaking regardless of whether that person actually abused the exploit themselves or merely sold items to those who did.

@Madholm

The problem with this protesting is DCUO isn't a game dependant on the economy at all, so all this is immaterial.

Since there is no crafting and all things come from actually playing the game, all anyone has to do is go out and earn it if they don't want to pay.

@real65rcncom As fans, we don't know what it will look like, but "Research & Development" aka crafting has been confirmed for Update 7.

this game is extremely fun, the AH however is ridiculously inflated compared to what $ you generate in game. i hope they add more things

Funny, I was told on another forum that inflation has no effect on players....

You were told correctly.

If you want any of the items on the auction house, you generally know where they come from.

Catwoman's stuff comes from.. surprise!.. the Catwoman mission. Two-Faced Stuff comes from.. yep... the mission with Two Face in it. Batman's stuff is a little tricker because it comes from.. Batman's mission.

The only thing you need currency for in this game is two things:

gear repairs (which are dirt cheap)

sodas (regen drinks) for combat.

Some players only used the AH as an extra bank slot so some prices can be ignored.

I'm fairly new to the game and it took me a night to figure out that I had to use sodas. Am surprised how often during events others don't use them!

"The content pack is available as a free download for players of all access levels, and the highlight of the pack is the third and final chapter in the Fortress of Solitude raid series."

Does that mean that FTP people get this too? It says all access levels so I'm thinking yes but don't want to repeat something incorrectly.

The only time you will need to pay for an update is if it says DLC on the title. If it doesn't say DLC, then it's for everyone.

@Dirame

Well SoE I don't understand then. They just gave away developed raid content for free?

If they are giving away a new dungeon to free to play players who don't have to pay a dime, why would a FTP player ever want to sub and pay for it?

So other than the Light content, a FTP player can play everything from start to finish in DCUO right now without having to pay a dime?

Great deal for players which is always a good thing for us, not so great for SoE.. what am I missing here?

That doesn't sound like the greedy SoE everyone has always bitched about? If they gave away the whole game, no wonder they got one million people recently.

@real65rcncom

they dont have access to the light power set and soon the next DLC is out (based around the flash and will have a lighting powerset). Basically they went f2p too early and are not filling up the marketplace rather than having it filled with stuff to begin with.

@real65rcncom They limit the money cap which makes it harder to prepare for end-game content. Some experienced players say its do-able but its challenging. Right now, paying is mostly convenience as it should be like. I love the way they approach the f2p model.

Actually, its NOT a content pack free download. Its just a patch update. They added the new raid, a combat rating system and some new t3 weapons - thats all. Update 7 which is coming in Dec, along with the Flash DLC will be bring a ton of new content.

Also, there has been 6 updates now as well as the Green Lantern DLC pack in just 10 months, so besides the base game there is plenty of extra content to see! And DCUO only has 30 levels and a TON of content for just a small amount of levels, MORE IS COMING! Try out dcuo today!
