I have not played WoT for over a year. But this offer may just have me checking it out once again. I know it is just a promotion, and one that appeals to be sure, but it sure is a nice "salute" to the ones that have fallen, veterans, and currently enlisted that play their game. Smart and effective marketing, not to mention doing something good in the process.

"For every $14.95 gold bundle purchased, Wargaming.net will donate $5, and for every $49.95 gold bundle purchased, it will donate $15"

Seriously people if you want to be charitable better donate $ directly for Paralyzed Veterans of America.

@smartstep
The idea is you're being charitable while still getting stuff for the game.

This kind of thing pisses me off. They only care about profit, and using vets as an excuse to get them is (insert really bad deletive here). Like one blogger stated, why not donate all the time or donate directly without a lame promotion designed to try and fill their lagging profit margin?

Pathetic.

@Graill44 They're a game company, not a charity foundation. The fact they're doing anything like this at all earns them points in my book. Who cares if they're trying to make money - companies tend to do that.

As a service-connected disabled veteran myself I have to agree with some of the above posters. This is just insulting to know this plan is really just an illusion to line their own pockets instead of helping veterans.

@Rayve

Uhhm, how exactly is this going to line their pockets? They are giving away a third of their quite considerable revenue to charity, and that's supposed to line their pockets? Some people fail at logic.

In case someone is confused, this isn't some kind of promotion to get people in, this is just a straight up donation from their regular revenue stream.

Are they profiteering? A bit. But honestly they could just do nothing. They could just do another 5xbonus experience to your first win and increased credit gain on a few tanks, like they usually do. Their motives aren't entirely pure, but at least they're doing something to help.

In any case. I was going to buy gold to get a month of premium today. But then I saw that and decided I would wait. It ain't much, but we can't all be super charitable, I only work 4 days a week and my tire got flat and I missed work.. So you, if you don't like it.

If you're in the position where you're going to buy gold anyway - today's a good day to do it. I know a few people who would have bought this week, but have held off til today.

Good for Wargaming I say personally - every bit helps.
