Chinese MMO powerhouse Perfect World Entertainment has teamed up with Nexon Korea in order to expand Perfect World's games to Korean players. Nexon CEO Min Seo says that "[Nexon is] very excited about establishing this New Company with Perfect World to bring more of their titles into the Korean market." Perfect World CEO Michael Chi believes that the pairing will help the studio to "further expand [its] user base and provide the highest quality services to local players in the Korean market."

Wow these two MMO powerhouses joining forces like this was pretty unexpected. Could be good though, since they may be able to find some synergies in the logistical part of bringing their games to the players. That could then free up funds and man power to focus on developing the games themselves. I wonder if this pairing will extend to the Western market too?

Synergy effect will rather mean lower costs and more money for investors.
Investing more in games than evaluated needed amount would be action against interests of investors and thus breaking the law by managment.
People should stop thinking that if company is very profitable it will invest more money than if it is profitable but bit less.
On mmorpg turf best example is WoW. Profits from WoW were and are insane, ALOT higher than any other mmorpg out there.
Now say, does having profits higher 30 x times in WoW than f.e. EQ2 profits made Blizzard invest 30 x times more into WoW content than SOE invested in EQ2?

Nexon and Perfect World are the two best F2P publishers IMO. There games are actually F2P, not a tier based game that restricts you for not paying. I can only see good things from this.

When they ask you later where you were when this perfect storm arrived, remember you read it here first on Massively.

great, so koreans will get a taste of how insanely grindy PWE games are, and have to deal with nexons inability to properly run a game

@ClassicCrime i have to agree with EndDream ... is that meant to be a joke? Korean games are grindy as well so they're used to it. Nexon is good company too.
