Looks like that December release date just got tossed out the window.

They never said "December release" or to better clarify they said they beleive by December the game would be good enough for a cash shop to generate income, and continue with development, a true honest company, because in my belief, MMOs are in a constant beta, it just happens that at some point they charge for it.

@tavtav actually if you read the post as stated in that snippet and the full article that its taken from Mark explicitly states Firefall will NOT have a "traditional" launch. instead opting for a gmail style growing invite system. The entire comment made at Chinajoy about December was THEM misinterperating what mark said to mean an 'official launch' When what ws said is the cash should "Should" be open and generating revenue by December.

Well, from the very tiny amount of info that the small number of beta testers have let slip, the game is in great shape even at this point. The most important thing, in my mind, is that the actual shooting mechanics are fun, and that seems to be the case. It's good to hear that they are now concentrating on ensuring open world mechanics match the PvP experience.

They are following the google blueprint of growing the game - When they have the game the way they want it they will give beta testers invites so they can invite their friends to grow their community. It's not going to have a launch in the traditional sense since there is no box to buy. There are many good games to play from now until Firefall launches - spend your time wisely because once it is open to the public, your social life will come to a grinding halt.

The in-game store is most likely to LAUNCH in December, not the game itself. As it has been stated god knows how many times by the devs on the forums and on other sites, the game is already "released" so to speak, and is handling the game by gradually opening it up as they fix the game up.
