Quick, name a vampire-themed MMORPG other than CCP's long-awaited World of Darkness. If you said DarkEden, you get a gold star. The isometric hack-and-slash game debuted way back in 1997 and while none of its various versions really caught on in the western market, that's not stopping Ignited Games from attempting to reanimate the game for a modern audience.
The game features three races and "distinctive gameplay mechanics and methods for character progression such as the vampire's need to drink blood to gain experience points," according to a new press release. DarkEden's closed beta phase is currently live, and you can sign up for a chance to test at the game's official website.

I'm in the beta, its very rough, not very fun, and half in some asian language, but it has potential I guess. So unless you like making about a million bug reports and slogging trhough with very little help I would wait for a good bit.
On a good note you do get to suck some blood.

The screenshot looks great...

Gave it a try, only made it about 10 minutes in -- I can usually handle terrible MMOs, but this one is quite bad. It's like they attempted to clone Diablo 1 and failed miserably.

So far this game has been released twice (or was it three times?) here in the US by different people and failed each time.
Why is somebody actually trying again? Sometimes you just got to let the thing die! The market is too crowded now, not everything is going to make money. You guys want to give something a shot, why not buy the rights to some hidden gem like the English version of Talesweaver rather than some old beat to death thrice failed game?
