Did you wonder who was captaining Ultima Online since Calvin "Uriah" Crowner left his role as producer earlier this fall? Apparently, it's been none other than Jeff Skalski, who recently penned a producer's letter to introduce himself to the UO-faithful. In it, he explains that his goals for the grand-daddy of MMOs include heavily increasing the team's interaction with the community, implementing weekly Q&A sessions, squashing bugs, and "breathing life back into areas that have long been forgotten," i.e., revamping older content.
In fact, some of that older content -- Shame, one of the original and iconic anti-virtue dungeons in classic Britannia -- is due for its revamp sooner rather than later. Publish 73, now on the test server, retools Shame with a truly massive itemization overhaul and difficulty scaling as players descend the dungeon's depths.

Instead of new content, update the graphics!

They are making the 2D graphics higher resolution in the EC client. They are staying true to the original, given the years of negative feedback on the KR client. Check it out :-) uo.com
They even have a 14 day free trial and you can use either the classic or the enhanced client.--

God no "updated graphics", one of the reasons that I left UO after 8+ years was that they insisted that updating the graphics and getting away from the original look of the game was the way to "re-vitalize" it. In fact, the constant drive to copy what other MMORPGs are doing to pull in new customers has proven time and again to have the opposite effect.

they were trying to turn what uo2 supposed to be into uo. thats when they started ruining the graphics. the original is hard to beat. its simple and neat. i look at kingdom reborn and the character movement is atrocious to look at.

UO is like that grandfather you love, he used to be so strong and taught you how to tie your shoes but now he lays in a pile of bedsores shitting his pants and calling a jaimacian nurse mommy.
Please just put a bullet in UO's head alread, give the game that started it all some dignity.
