logically you should tape those post-its in each of their original game box, or put them all in the same. Believe me, you don't wan't one of those post-its to end up in a vacuum cleaner :) it happened to me once after I had been Inactive in wow for 2 years, and i didn't even remember the mail i used on it :D

I used to do this, just jot it down in the manual.

If your password meets the requirements already, just flip it. Simple trick for a password that isn't compromised but you're forced to change. I've had to do it for hotmail after my account got hijacked, I changed my password, then a day later MSN finally realized my account had been hijacked and made me change it again. Just flip it!

With all the hackers out there, Bio is just trying to avoid any missteps prior to launch. You know damn well that crazy hackers are probably attacking Bioware on a daily basis. It wouldn't surprise me if some got in far enough to make them concerned to send out this notice. The last thing they want before a major launch is to have their product hacked....

5 minutes can sometimes be a quarter of my gaming time, which changes the perspective a little bit.

Secondly, there are very few situations where taking another five minutes to redo something I've already done correctly is desired.

Tell you what, next time you're at an ATM, input your pin, get to your account info, then cancel eject your card and do it all again. Repeat for 5 minutes, just so the bank can be extra sure you keyed in those 4-8 numbers correctly.

You're right, the password change isn't the biggest deal. An irritation really. Thus I'm not claiming to drop my pre-order and burn effigies of the Docs.

That's actually a great idea. Hmmm....

Using a standard USB fingerprint scanner and having a website that interacts with numerous other sites with said data. Similar to Verisign or Intereac.

there exists 2 faar better options.
first is the eyeball scanner, and no it doesn't work as in movies where infiltrators cut out eyeballs to gain acces through a scanner. That reason is, that you are first allowed acces when an iris retracts.
the second option is to let your hand pass through a sort of vein recognition device, which first shines all your big and small veins with infrared light, and afterwards when the veins have absorbed the light, an x-ray recognition scan is taken. because no hand in the world is the same, not even on twins, since growth and scarring are unique to each person.

And yes, the second is my favorite :)

We could also look at DNA testing through blood samples, but then again, you can get a fingerprint scanner for what 20-40 bucks?

There's plenty of alternatives that are far more secure, accesibility would have to be a major concern if you were say, going to start a business that offered this service for online identification.

I use an app on my iphone called Mykeepass. It's basically just a password protected database that holds all your passwords for you. Iliminates the need to memorize more than one password at least.

It's 0.99 cents on the iphone, or you can DL it for free I think for the PC (If you have both you can sync them). I chose the phone so I'd always have it with me, and between my phone lock, and the ability to wipe all data remotely should it ever go missing I'm fairly comfortable with the security of it. Might not want to trhow your SIN or banking info on it but for things like video games it's a must have.
