5 days? I was expecting 7, but I feel great about 5 anyway.

@Shirvington

I was expecting that Collector's Edition will get longer as well.

Yea, I was a little disappointed with this. Them claiming they want to role out preorders slowly to make sure servers don't get overwhelmed I was expecting it to be a 2 week process, not a 5 day one. Little saddened by this.

two weeks? lol your expectations are lofty. That's unprecedented.

No reason to expect that when the most any game has given has been one week afaik. No wonder you're disappointed; you let your own self down :(

Bioware has to do this. Since everyone levels through the same quests (with bottlenecks) they have to get some people through the tracks early to prevent the inevitable frustrations and rage.

I'm used to seven days headstart, but five should be okay since I'll be in the storymode anyways.

I'm serious about not wanting to rush through an mmo this time around. One that finally has some story I can get into is a good reason to "take it slow" this time.

I would say I am too but it depends on how good or bad the script is, sure I don't have to read it anymore which might make bad dialogue easier to digest than reading something that's poorly written but it might not be enough if it's terrible :P

This is smart though. You can make sure the servers are responding ok but letting a few people in at a time. Hopefully with this rollout they can avoid any major server disasters.

I hope I qualify for 5 days!

Depends when you registered your pre-order code. If it was in the first week after pre-orders, then most likely you'll get five or four days. If it was last week, you'll probably only get two or one.

Pretty much what I figured. I was hoping for a full week. I guess it makes sense with SWG shutting down 5 days before official launch.

I pre-ordered fairly early, but I wonder what time frame they are going by with the "slow-roll out"? 2-3 week intervals after you punch in the code for every one of the five days?

Sheesh, imagine being the guy with a one-day headstart. Not bad, because some MMO's in the past had weekend headstarts, but still...

Ah, it won't matter after a couple of weeks.

"May be up to 5 days".

It could be fewer than 5 even.

@Lenn It's 5 for those who pre-ordered early I assume.

Yeah, reading the "up to" part is why I won't pre-order at this time. I know I should have done it sooner. So now I'm left with not knowing exactly what early access time I will get if I pre-order now which is not worth the headache of Amazon or Best Buy screwing up my purchase(we all know they can screw up emailing codes from past experience). I will just buy the game in-store on release day.

I'm SURE a consideration was the speed people might have leveled during the various Betas.

So it would have been based on a balance of not having bottlenecks and also not having people reach the 30's & 40's before the game officially launches.

What I want to know is do we get a head start on downloading the game? may take nearly 5 days to just download it.

You'll get an email in early December giving your personal Early Access date and a link to download the client a few days prior to your start. You'll have plenty of time to download it without wasting your Early Access time. :)

It could be worse. I pre ordered a few days ago when I got paid from gamestop and they were out of the pre order codes :( I probaby wouldn't have qualified with so many pre ordered already though.

What a load of crap - to be honest. A Pre-Order is a pre-order. Why should someone get less days of the Early Start period purely because he bought his game 2 months prior to launch than someone else who got it 3 months prior to launch? As it stands now fellow guildies I always group with could be nearly a week behind me before they can even log in despite the fact we've all pre-ordered.
