@NeverDeath

The addons are not supportive enough of the way I would like them to be. PPL are still stuck with same crappy raid and party frames for example. I desided to sub 12 months WOW for free Diablo and I will not be subing for another MMO for that period of time.

RIft has fallen last on the list of MMOs to play - mainly because devs did not take note and open up code to work with addons.

Deadalon out - for next 12 months.

Rift is definitely known for "the MMO that updates the most". And while I don't play it anymore, hats off to Trion!

@J45neoboy

Yep, they take down the game just about once a day to "Update" it for 30 minutes, so title earned lol.

meanwhile.. http://rift.zam.com/story.html?story=28182

"A lot of the discussion also centered on the new Instant Adventure mechanic. This mechanic will NOT be available immediately upon release of 1.6, but will be added before 1.7, and it sounds extremely promising. Hal’s description of them was hilarious: “Shortly after 1.6 we’re going to, in Shimmersand and Stillmoor, be unveiling Instant Adventure."

wtf is up with that, lol? The main feature of the new released isn't even going to be released with it when it comes out? so much for quality..

@real65rcncom

Haha exactly, I'll try Rift in a year and a half or so if it hasn't already gone free to play.

Went to try it out to see how the changes have been since I cancelled a few months ago last week and found they deleted my account. I guess it got compromised or something and they just outright delete accounts instead of just banning them. Too bad really since I was interested in seeing how things are now and I don't want to jump through the 50 hoops they want me to jump through to maybe get the account restored.

Hmmm. One week all WoW, next all Rift? While I do play and enjoy Rift, I'd like some more variety.

Rift adds a free patch with an island containing a new turret defense mechanic.

Wow releases a $40 expansion pack with pandas.

Enough said

The last few content patches for WoW were rather hefty product -wise, and of course free. And of course in a month or so we are getting 3 new dungeons, new raids, ect ect.

Why not wait until Rift has it's first proper expansion before the smart-ass comments ?

@Hurbster But thats my point exactly. They haven't released an expansion yet.

I know wow can have great free patches I played the game for six years, but in 8 months rifts has put out as much content as wow does in the entire lifespan of an expansion.

Don't you mean the last few OLD content patches? Lol recycling content doesn't really count as "new" content. More like refurbished. People are sick of their complacency and laziness, and their pandering to only casuals. RIFT tries to cater to every demographic, which is a big part of why they're doing better than other MMOs since WoW's release.

@(Unverified) And what MMO has released a expansion in less than 1 year of existence? Also WoW put out just as much new content within the first year of it's existence as well. Know why? Since when a game is in development they have a lot of things that are partly done and then stagger those releases. If they are releasing full on content (not some little world event but actual content such as dungeons and whatnot) like this a year from now then you'll have a point.

Smooth as a babies bum.... along as it's a baby gorilla.

As to Trion, I'm happy for them, but boy talk about trolling Blizzard much. We get it you update more than they do. Congrats !

Basically the only thing missing was him wearing a shirt saying 'W3 RoXXoRs Bl1ZZaRd'

Blizz is just an easy target, biggest out there by miles. And they have buit a rep on trolling Blizzard. If I were them I'd worry more about the Star Wars game coming out soon.

I'm confused. I always thought Rift was known as "the poor man's WoW" or "the game that wants to be WoW but it's not good enough". Is it now also known as "the MMO that updates itself loads" as well?

Maybe their next update could tell us how many million, million, million subscribers they are behind WoW or when they're going to do something WoW hasn't done already.
