On the Operative route, armors tend toward hooded attire as the character employs a variety of blades, bombs, and short-range blaster attacks to keep enemies pinned. Snipers, meanwhile, are sleekly armored ranged dispensers of death, with their abilities culminating in a large-scale orbital strike to take out inconvenient enemies. If you're itching to play an Agent, you'd be well-served to take a look at the full trailer to see all that the class is capable of doing in the name of the Empire.

It's been a day for news about Star Wars: The Old Republic as we move still closer to release. The latest character progression video has been unveiled for the Agent, showing both the differences in equipment and abilities players can expect as they level up as one of the subtle hands of the Sith Empire's will. As players grow in power, they can either take the route of the stealthy and aggressive Operative or the resourceful ranged Sniper.

Ditto, I'll have the whole character list filled out in a day or two, I'm already planning each one right now. I like to have it out set up so I can flip back and forth between the various classes to get a better "over all" feel for the games mechanics and classes.

If I do end up playing this live, I already know I'd be playing an Operative (and a Commando on Republic side), but yeah. Now I'm tempted to say I'd make a Sniper too.

I don't know if you like or dislike the full helmet from your comment but you should know that you will have an option to hide your helmet if you want.

Pretty impressive. Too bad they stitched together all the 'fun' bits of combat [animations] so some might be tricked. Not that other games don't do this as well, of course.

Yeah. Most people prefer watching a 30 minute video of going from quest to quest with very little action. I wonder why those silly marketing folks insist on showing only the "fun" stuff:)

I know, I'm not saying it would be better for their marketing to user real gameplay footage, but I think some will be disappointed that the 'heroic' combat is just the same as everyone else's
And don't say 'oh they could just go online and look for leaks' because obviously we're not talking about the hardcore fans here.

Snipers are pretty sweet. I think I want one as my first Imperial character. I played one for a little at E3 and assuming they didn't change too much, it has a nice flow of abilities; I thought it was pretty intuitive.

Ok, have to admit. that was pretty bad ass

Good video, I'm impressed as well. The Jedi and Sith are taking all the melee roles while every other class is ranged. It's interesting and I really want to see if ranged classes become the more favored classes rather than the forces users that everyone rightly thought would be over powered.

@bobfish It does look fun, but keep in mind it's gonna play out the exact same way on the republic side through the smuggler route.

Healer with invisibility ftw here as well. The operative looks to be a lot of fun.
