Closed beta registration has just begun on the official site, with a trailer and some early promotional artwork to help build excitement. The game promises to host several different play modes, as well as giving players the option to switch classes mid-combat while experimenting with a variety of different gear setups. If you're a fan of the genre, you might want to take a look at the trailer just past the cut and perhaps sign up for the beta now, rather than later.

It's proving to be quite the year for MMOFPS fans, with several upcoming titles aimed in precisely that direction. Repulse is another entry in the genre from Aeria Games, set in a future setting wherein human beings have polluted the planet beyond repair. The remaining parts of humanity have found a new home in the stars, but unfortunately, the planet is already inhabited, and its existing residents aren't terribly keen on letting humans move in.

Okay, I love Sci-Fi, but I am getting a bit tired of it being hooked to yet another FPS (even though I like FPSes fine from time to time).
Why can't I see a Western-themed FPS (they've been made in the past) or some other theme, like a kid-theme or Paintball? Or dare I say, Fantasy?!?!
(I know, right? Could get kooky/weird! ;P )

All I had to do was look at the site and go "ugh!" think I'll pass, I'm pretty sure that interior hanger screenshot on the right column is identical for the one used for blackshot or another of those F2P online "MMOFPS" games.
To me ther eis not ONE true MMOFPS on the market yet. Simply becuaes I cannot run through a town shooting everyone I see (if i so choose to) and suffering just retribution when I have to puase and reload.
Give me wild west law and gimme a gun in an open world. let the community police itself THAT would be a true MMOFPS...all the rest are still just instance based lobby games so far (sadly)

ww2online has been around for around 8 years.
http://wwiionline.com/
It is a true MMOFPS. It features a 1/2 scale low lands area of Europe and combined arms combat with infantry, tanks, anti-tank guns, fighters, bombers and ships.

The trailer is very nice... but that's about it.
Would also appreciate a heads up from MASSIVELY about games that are not part of the MASSIVELY multiplayer online genre but are still featured on the site for some reason.

Looks like someone is publishing Genesis A.D again. Could always used another 16 player class based shooter I suppose. Don't know why anyone would play this over Tribes, Blacklight, Hedone, Global Agenda, KOS Online, even Combat Arms (assuming you are playing without cheaters), Crossfire, or AVA though. The only thing about the game that would even make it worth playing is the dash you get every couple of seconds.
It was okay, but I'll be honest. Every time I tried to play I got an instant BSOD that was never resolved. The dashing around maps is cool, but I would rather someone release Huxley.
