Of course. Makes no sense liking a product and not supporting is somehow. I spent quite some time subscribed to some titles, even though I could not play them for a while.

In the other hand, I will not drop a dime for games I consider shoddy, boring or that have business practices I do not endorse. Yes, I am looking at you, Blizzard.

Yes I do. Subscription is like a club membership fee. If you want to be in the club you have to pay your dues. Doesn't mean you have to use the facilities.

@Bhagpuss That's a good way to put it.

I can hardly stand to play the game, but it's the game that my kid wants to play with me. If I could stop paying for those three family accounts, I could afford to bump the memory and bandwidth on my Minecraft server.

What sometimes happens is that I pay for like 3 months but the game gets boring after a few weeks [Rift], but generally no, I try and cancel games I'm not playing

On the whole no, but there are times when I am subscribed to a couple of games and it takes a while to realise I'm not playing one of them enough to warrant paying for it and so I then cancel. That used to happen with both Fallen Earth and Age of Conan so I run them now as f2p and dip in and out as I feel like it.

As much as I would love to fling money at my favorite developers, I have a bunch of pesky expenses. While it's not much to spend on entertainment, if I'm not currently being entertained by spending that $15, well, it's got other places it can go.

NO.

If I play I sub.

When I dont feel like playing and / or I know I won't have time to play in coming month I also unsub.

Preety straightforward and simple system.

I like it.

Just hate adding cash shops and mictotransactions to p2p games, it kinda defeat biggest advantage of subscibing.

I used to do so, then had some other priorities and couldn't really justify the expense. I may start doing so again though.

Eve-Online is the one game that I don't play anymore but would still consider subbing to. Eve was and will always be my first true love as an MMO and it's nice to pop back once or twice a year to see how it's doing and say hello to a lot of old friends and enemies alike. I'm a big fan of CCP, despite some rocky moments, and so quite like to give them a bit of money every now and again. I did have 4 active accounts for many years but that definitely wasn't worth continuing once I stopped playing.

Sort of, I purchased 12 months of WoW time ( 6-60 day cards ) prior to Cata release and stopped playing after ~3-4 of those months. This was something I have done in the past during my 4yr plus time in WoW, and at the time I never thought I would begin hating the game just months into a new expansion. I was happy when my time finally expired because I no longer wish to support Blizzard's WoW division.

I've done it a few times.

My interests in playing certain MMOs vary over time. Sometimes I feel like playing a FPS like Team Fortress 2, or sometimes I find a game like Glitch. Either way, I know I will have that urge to play the MMO again sometime so I stay subscribed, even if I haven't played in a month.

I did recently unsubscribe to RIFT due to Glitch and my lack of interest in the current generation of MMOs. I'm looking foward to trying MMOs as they come out, and have pre-ordered SWTOR, GW2, and TERA, but I doubt SWTOR will impress me much. I'm rooting for GW2 to just blow my socks away. TERA, maybe somewhere in between.

Either way, yeah, sure. It's only $15 a month. But only for a short while.

Twice, once with asherons call in my last year of it as I played SWG just kept it active but finally came to the realization it was time to end it. Then did it with WoW on my second go around with it, pretty much for 10 months only logged in 2-3 times real quick to see if I wanted to play it again. Went back on the last time played a few months then finally just yanked it off like a bandage and haven't been sub'ed since Feb 11 now.
Sorta did it with Rift also, but cancelled it after a month of not playing mostly from being burned out on MMO's for the time being. Figured why drag this one out as I did with the others, liked the game but just needed a break from MMO's for a few months.

I tend to do 1-month subs and un-subscribe when I get bored or want to try another MMO

No. If it's not worth playing, it's not worth my money.

No. Although Blizzard with this Diabo 3 deal is making me do just that. But I suppose this is different because I get "something" for my money this way at least.

No, although, like the above poster said, the Blizzard deal is tempting.
