While we're still impatiently drumming our fingers waiting for TERA to release in the West, it turns out that our feedback is causing real change in the game's live Korean edition. According to a forum post by Producer Chris Hager, Bluehole Studio has taken several suggestions passed along by En Masse and is incorporating them into the live version of the game. Hager says that this is "just a taste" of how the two developers are interacting and collaborating.
On November 24th, the next big Korean update will hit the servers, and with it come the implemented suggestions from En Masse's fans. This update will include a dungeon finder system, rest XP, group XP bonuses, modified PvP rules, a guild battle system, and "more skill diversity through new master Glyphs." Oh, and there will be the ability to sit because roleplayers would be lost otherwise.
"This is a very exciting time for us as we are starting to see what true collaboration looks like," Hager writes, "and it also shows that you guys do carry a voice with us. The best part is that there is more to come."

So Western gamers basically want to make the game easier. Good suggestion. We'll see how SWTOR (where you can literally faceroll the keyboard) goes.

Probably pretty good since new games like Rift aren't hard either (hello, Duracell build?)
Neither are most of the mmos made in the last few years. Pointless point is pointless.. thanks for posting it. :)

Sorry but I don't quite understand what you mean by easier. Do you mean a game is "harder" if it takes you longer to grind for XP? Do you mean its harder if you have to shout in trade chat just to get a group together? Maybe you don't like group XP bonuses that are designed to actually promote group play? No, you must hate guild battle systems and added complexity from master glyphs.
I'm no fan of this game but seriously, your post makes for a good LOLWUT?!

All you TERA fans , I need your help!
I have wanted to try TERA on the Korean servers, but I have only been able to find the US website. :(
Figured even if the language was hard to understand, its like a free BETA to see how the game plays. Anyone know the address of the Korean TERA website???
I'd appreciate it, thanks!

@smartstep It's not the worst thing. You think many people don't like this feature but there are many more who love the feature where they don't have to spend 20 minutes just to get to a dungeon and then on top of that risk the chance of it being camped by someone of a higher level to gank you. If the game is more a bit more easy in certain areas it brings casuals in and really doesn't hurt the hardcore fanbase. Because if you are true hardcore fan of a game you play it anyways. Hell I still have some friends who have played Aion from beta and still going strong. Those are hardcore fan/players to a game. You're probably an MMO hopper.

@Alex Oglitchkin Ignore smartstep, there is nothing that can be gained from his trolling and general ignorance when it comes to MMOs.

I agree. I don't know if I'll even want to play TERA now. I hate dungeon finders, they're for anti-social shut-ins. I mean who the hell is so much of a shut-in that they can't even socialize in a virtual space? Ffs. If you don't have time to gather some people together and go to a dungeon, maybe you shouldn't do dungeons. What is the point of a dungeon if it's so easy that it's a hypercasual experience? I thought dungeons were meant to challenge groups of players, not give them blowies and a treat basket.
This industry is going to hell, and I will wait on the sidelines for a phoenix to rise from its ashes. WTB an MMO which is mostly oldschool in design, but with fully aimed combat and where stats are secondary to your ability to maneuver/aim.

@NeverDeath You make it seem like all of them are 100% different groups. In WoW I always run with 2-3 guildies so that leaves a couple of pugs. Nothing anti-social about it. Some guilds aren't trying to amass 100+ people to their guild. Some just are happy with 10-15 and not everyone has no life and is on every single moment. While you go form your group I'll be on the last boss finishing up in a run.

I'm baffled by your complete stupidity and generalization of people. What would you rather do?
A: Log in, spam "dps/tank/whatever LFG for " for 20 minutes and not even get anything, log out frustrated and realized you just wasted 20 minutes.
B. Log in, queue for a dungeon finder, talk in chat/guild/global, go out grinding/farming/collecting, jump around, and generaly be doing something else far more productive while waiting for the queue to pop.
Sorry the dungeon finder saves you time and money. Remember, time IS money, friend.
So stop hating on what's popular because all the other mindless sheep are doing it and get with the times. It's easier for everyone else and everyone else' fun outweighs yours.

A: log in wait 20 minutes in LFG tool join instance with unknown randoms, mindlessly grind in the specially for the randoms dumbed down instances, never talk, never interact with anyone aside from grinding through dungeon, get shiny purples to become happy
B: Socialize with people all over the course of the game, create personal social network, interact with your community, make yourself a name, make people want to group up with you, group up shortly after login with a few of all the people you know who happen to be online.
C: Blame your social defects on the game and demand LFG tool, call everyone not social retarded off as "stupid" and "just hating the popular" retard friendly game design promoted by Blizzard and hurting other games as the other game communties become tainted by WoW player oozing into good MMORPGs, crying for retard friendly game mechanics.

Well, these are all welcome additions, as far as I'm concerned -- and it says something that it took fan furor HERE to get things like 'rest XP' put into the Korean version of the game, all of this while knowing that said market has a generally higher tolerance for a more grind-based gameplay.
In other words, either the grind was so bad that it was intolerable even there... or the game was so feature-poor that it suffered for it, even while looking as gorgeous as it does. Either way, this can only be good news for people on both sides of the pond. 'Get your act together and offer people as complete a game system as you can' should probably be the to-do point on top of most developers' lists nowadays.
As for how people could critique the game when it's not out here yet.... it's not all that difficult to look up the feature lists for the Korean client and say 'well, I don't think that lack of such-and-such feature will go over well.' Kudos to the devs for listening, in this case.

Strange the way he worded it, as En Masse is owned 100% by Blue Hole Studios, it isn't two different companies, it is one owned by another.

I find it amazing, yet interesting that they implemented the US/Euro suggestions already in the Korean build.
I was sorta blaise' about TERA, but this has gotten me a bit more interested and made me sit-up and take notice.
