Today's reveal is a two-minute video focusing on the game's mounts, and while there are a couple of clips that we've seen before (notably portions of the hang-gliding footage and the airship shots), there is a whole bunch of new stuff as well. There are the requisite horses, of course, but also some nifty steampunk automated carriage thingamabobs. The video also features some mouth-watering shots of player ships complete with unfurling sails, what appears to be functional rigging, and players climbing masts, turning the ship's wheel, and more. See for yourself after the cut.

Starving ArcheAge fans, take heart. With the onset of the game's fourth Korean closed beta test, we'll likely be seeing more news and views from the upcoming fantasy sandpark over the next few weeks.

It's my only hope right now for a more complete game instead of another major focused combat MMO that dominates the market these days. The video looks great and makes me sad to think it still a long ways off for a release in NA.

is this a game about tiny horses and people?

I wish western studios made cared about game worlds as much as they obviously do. For Trion etc., it's just about making the world to suit the game. Hopefully ArcheAge won't be FFA PVP (i.e what ruins every sandbox nowadays)

As far as i understood, it's kinda faction based PvP but one continent (out of 3) is a lawless place. However, people that kill players of their own faction might end up being executed (perma death for the character - in extreme cases)

I was like aw man its the same stuff as before, but now they have ships! You can control your own ship its not just a ride you get on you can steer it. That's great, and yeah Greymantle you are right not coming until at least 2013 if not farther out.

Imagine building a fleet and attacking the opposite faction with it. *drools*

You know, seeing this, makes me wish again for an MMO based in the American Wild West (or the early 1800's) with a good dosage of Fantasy and Steampunk added in. :/

@Space Cobra Just was watching re-runs of HBO's Deadwood recently, I'd be for a adult/dark type Old West game. Would be ok with it not having fantasy elements, or at least not at all in the common way. Say some Native mystical type magic, and hey maybe Oriental also (each maybe being tied to that "race" exclusively in the setting) with the "celestial's" ?

Literal "magic minorities", eh? :P Hehe.
But seriously, though, the animation looks like its been tweaked a bit; it honestly looks better than the previous trailers. (That automated carriage still needs work, though...)
What stands out the most to me is the rather modern clothing on the female character (gliding, navigating the ship). 'Makes me wonder about the setting of the story and how technology fits into the scheme of things.
Fairly sure players could always climb masts and use the ship's wheel, but its nice to see, nonetheless.
Good stuff.

Seeing these steam-punk engines makes the one thing this game misses abundantly clear : (Tinker) Gnomes :)!
(hey they have cat-people so a Small Race would be nice)

Except for the steam-carriages seeming to be slightly out of scale everything continues to look excellent!

Probably, but they are not too bad. There is that one we see much of, that you stand in the middle; that, I believe, is based on a toy about a drawing for a potential steam carriage (that may/may not have ever been actually made in real size). I remember the little figure being in the center and it does look odd in a "Who drives this thing and why's he standing there with no seats?" sorta way.
So, the scale of that one is about right, if it every (doubtfully) got made into full size.

There is one mount there that looks like a Tauntaun but with the face of the Luck Dragon from Neverending Story.
I'll be having one of those please... if this ever hits Western shores and isn't published badly by one of the unholy F2P cash shop conglomerates.
