EverQuest's graphics aren't the only thing dated when it comes to Norrath! Oooh, yeah, that was cold, but the good news is that we still love dear old EQ, and we'll be checking out expansion number 1,342,756 (actually, number 18) in just a couple of weeks.
We know this because Sony Online Entertainment has announced the official release date for the Veil of Alaris content update, which is November 15th. Pre-orders have already begun, and you'll want to check out the official pre-order page to see if SOE's digital carrots are enough to entice you to part with your hard-earned dollars prior to release day.

Do we have guessulation on what kind of awesomeness will be hitting hte fan for expansion 20? They're going to have to do something special for that one, and by 'special' I mean EPIC!

I have been seriously considering playing Ever Quest as it was one I somehow never got around to. Is it worth coming in as a complete new player? Or are starting areas too dead? I know there was some restart server that made things go back to how they were when the game was first launched but they I don't think they included the expansion packs which I would want access too.

I'd say downloading the trial and checkin it out is the best way to find out.
I tried out EQ when Steam had a big sale on it last year. There's one server that starts you out at level 50 with 50 Alternative Advancement points, so you get a huge jump-start to try to catch up with everyone else. However, having to play catch-up is unavoidable in EQ, and I never ran into a single other player that wasn't at least a semi-long-time EQ vet.

With a head full of EC Tunnel trading and oasis groups gone by, I clicked on their preorder page just to see what theyd be giving out nowadays, as I quit shortly after the abortion of Luclin dropped. I saw the beetleguise mount and pig people pet, and it made me want to shove Aradune's flaming sword through my temple.
