You didn't get into the crafting then?

There are resources scattered across the world but also, once a day, you can travel to a special zone where you can harvest a limited number of crystals which can then be traded for the normal resources you want. Depending on the color and quality of the crystal, you can receive a small amount of resource or far more than you could ever harvest normally, it all comes down to picking the right crystals with the right temporary buff on (gained from the crystals). Very nice little system I think, that takes the pain out of gathering.

Also the planar essence can be used to turn every temporary item into permanent, (at least all the ones I came across). This includes items gained from gameplay and quests, not just those purchased in the shop. Most players actually use them to turn mounts permanent, rather than bothering about cosmetic items.

It is, as you say, right on that average mark, though there are some nice things in there that in my opinion set it a little above the majority of free to play MMOs out there.

I couldn't get past the camera lock. In-game you will never see the sky. It is a 3D world locked into a 2.5D angle.

A fairly silly reason not to play an MMO but with all of the F2Ps out there it is very easy to be ultra-selective and I found myself being aggravated by scrolling my mouse up to see the horizon.

I tried it, slogged through the install, got into the game and lasted about 20 minutes.

It's dreadful.

"Item enhancement system skirts pay-to-win territory"

I can't play a game with this. Its horrible in Dragon Nest and DFO.

Upgrade your weapon to +6 to have a x1.5 boost. Upgrade it to +10 for a x2 boost. Upgrade to +12 for a 2.5 boost. Also, any enhancement past 6 can break your weapon. That is never a risk anyone will take without cash shop items.

@Destati

I think this system is acceptable for a cash shop.

The only people paying are folks who want to be competitive in the endgame.

Most folks will play the entire game for free. Only the hardcore need this stuff.

And if you want to play an MMO and be competitive in the endgame I don't think it's unreasonable to have you pay.

I find this system the most fair.

Not to mention that a hardcore player can still play free. They just pay for better chances during upgrades.

@Pingles I agree. This system also allows me to pay much less or nothing at all compared to the freemium games that call themselves f2p.
